Re: Audacity 1.3.12 freeze on Mac during Save, lost temp fil
When you restarted the Mac it is possible that the temp files were automatically removed. In Audacity, go to Audacity > Preferences > Directories. You will see the path to the temp directory. This folder is normally hidden by the Mac OS and will not show up in a spotlight search. Copy the text in th...

Audacity 1.3.12 freeze on Mac during Save, lost temp files..
Hello. While saving an Audacity ® 1.3.12-beta (Unicode) 1-hour recording, the software crashed, froze. I had to force quit Audacity (MacBook, OS 10.6.5, 2.4ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4gb, 667 mhz, ddr2 sdram). Upon reopening, Audacity gave me an error message that another version of Audacity was install...

Re: How good does a tape deck need to be?
(and the $75 cost would buy a lot of downloads, which would be cleaner than the tape capture) Not if the material on the tapes can't be bought... For example, if it's original recordings made by the user... I probably still have somewhere at my parents home some tapes I recorded of myself playing g...

Re: GSnap Problems
Have you tried the GSnap Manual ? It says "Use the automatic correction with Forced Key to help approximate that famous vocal effect." I assume he may actually mean "Fixed" - you would have to ask the GSnap author. Have you looked at these YouTube tutorials? http://www.youtube.co...

rehearsal tempo
What I specifically need is a way to play a track at slower speeds without changing the pitch so I can play along while I am learning. This might be best (if doable) as a Nyquist plug-in but is beyond my Nyquist programming skills. Some discussion can be found on Audacity's Feature Requests wiki: ht...

Re: How to mix vocals CD quality (new amateur trying to reco
You've asked a huge question anamarias. "How do I become an expert sound engineer / producer for vocal recording in 10 easy steps". The short answer is that you can't, but that's not useful at all ;) Good vocal recording is, at the same time, one of the easiest things and one of the hardes...

Voice over music volume
New to audacity. I have a song and want my voice as well. I have two tracks...my .mp3 and my voice is another. I want to be able to hear my voice over the song, so lower the volume and then turn the vol. back up.
I wasn't sure what to search on and I did have a look at the wiki help.
Please advise.

Re: Audio loopback problem
steve, Just for reference, here is the adapter that I needed all along, from the Radio Shack website, so at least I have a stock number to check with my local store to see if they have it since they don't seem very knowledgeable about what the subtle differences are... http://www.radioshack.com/prod...
