Re: Multi-Channel Podcast

I'm afraid there's no easy way to do what you want... To record 4 mics into 4 separate tracks you need a sound card capable of multi-track recording. And the troubles don't stop there... That's the least of the problems. You then need drivers for it, and drivers that work with audacity. Audacity doe...

I didn't see if there is a limit on how long a label can be. I want to send my niece some of my favorite songs w/the words so that she can sing along. I couldn't tell if there was a limit on how long a label can be. I was hoping they would scroll across the TV, computer or Ipod while the music is pl...

Re: Menus Disappeared

Also browsing/searching the forums sometimes helps... ;) Check this topic: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=48779 I dimly recalled that but could not find it - I searched for "menus missing" but not "menu missing". Search inventiveness and patience sometime...

Re: XP reboots when starting Audacity

It's a computer crash like a "blue screen error". Windows is I guess configured to restart automatically without showing the blue screen. Audacity itself does not have the kernel privileges to cause a system reboot, so it's a driver problem. If this only started when using Audacity, it's a...

Re: Static starts at second 26 when recording

I think the forum board limit for attachments is about 1 MB.
Either export a smaller selection, or post the 8.9MB file elsewhere on the internet (try a Google search for "free file sharing" or "share big files" or similar) then post a link to the file download.

Re: Audacity Nyquist tutorial anywhere?

Hi jotti, Nyquist controls sounds via functions and return values, not with arrays like C or C++, so with Nyquist you must think like an audio engineer, not like a C programmer. Below is some code containing a "pan" function (simulating the "pan" knob of the Audacity audio track)...

Re: Custom "snap to" times possible?

Search this page for "snap to:" http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Feature_Requests The option "Snap to beats" has got my vote. I'd also like the related feature of the time-line displaying "bars and beats". Audacity could be a really powerful tool for working...

Custom "snap to" times possible?

Sorry if this already has been asked a thousand times before but I've used the search function and couldn't find an anwer to this question. In the German forum I get frequently the question how to set the "snap_to" function at the lower border of the Adacity main window to a custom time va...

None are free, as I recall.
Funnily enough this came up earlier today: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 22#p128588
