Re: Remove Q setting from high-pass / low-pass filters

All the references in the Manual say "rolloff" but that is the author's preference. That appears to be a recent change. Up until March 20th this page used the hyphenated version http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/index.php?title=Sample_workflow_for_LP_digitization&oldid=9364 I've tried ...

Re: error LNK1104: cannot open file 'filedialog.lib'

This has been a problem now for a while, look at this forum post http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=56425 --the OP did not ever say if a solution was found. Also look at the many threads on the Audacity Developer's listserv http://audacity.238276.n2.nabble.com/template/NamlServle...

Re: Export To mp3 problem - VERY Frustrated

This is very unusual, but there's been a couple of special builds of lame to try and solve such unusual cases. Do a search on your computer and remove any lame_enc.dll files that you may have installed that don't work. Then try this one - unzip the dll and put it into the Audacity program flolder as...

Re: Recording from a Digital Piano

Yes, they did throw us a curve there. It's not a Pro, is it? Can you dig out a number? Apple > About This Mac > More Info > Hardware > Model Number. Read it exactly, please. Koz It is a Pro. That's bad news, is it? There was no Model No. but after searching for the serial number on the internet, I ...

Fascinating. Most Win7 installs are missing Stereo Mix. We gave up recommending people search for it.

Re: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 393

The current Unicode version of Audacity is able to handle these characters, but only if the project file was made by a Unicode version of Audacity. If the original project file was made with an ANSI version of Audacity, then the character encoding will be wrong for the Unicode version and the probl...

Re: Crash = 2 Channels and Missing Pieces

Audacity 1.3.6 crashed after I recorded a long stereo project about 3 hr 47 min, recorded as stereo mix. The auto recovery window popped up so I used that however after recovery instead of 1 single channel in the track there are 2 and they alternate with sound on and off. Looks like a bunch of miss...

Re: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 393

Here is the problem in the first file: ZvoËna sled This string occurs 4 times in the file Audacity (ANSI) is cannot deal with the accented character. Open the .aup file in a plain text editor, find that character and change it to an unaccented one. Save changes without changing the file extension. S...

Re: Sending files over the internet

Search Google for "free web hosting" with "FTP" support and "unlimited file size" (no file size restrictions). Free hosting of this type may be slow and not the most reliable, and advert supported, but it is likely to be as good a way as any for (occasionally) distribut...

Re: Recording guitar --> pc sound quality

Rather than give you a lecture about impedance matching and pre-amps , I’ll cut to the chase. One way or another you need an electronic gadget which goes between your guitar and your computer, My suggestion would be this type of device which plugs into the USB socket … http://www.behringer.com/EN/Pr...
