Re: V1.3.13 stalls on W7 (32 bit) SP1

I too had upgraded to service pack 1 on Windows 7. I'm using 1.3.13 as well. Before the switch to SP1, I could do an echo effect on a 2-3 minute clip in about 20 seconds. Since the upgrade to SP1, that same echo effect takes about two minutes. It's also taken a lot longer for longer tracks to load,...

Re: Removing tracks and noise

It's not unusual for people to post wanting to "recut" a song. There's only one tool that can help and that's Vocal Removal. It fails most of the time and even when it succeeds, the only thing it produces is a mono music track without the lead singer. Most of the time, it doesn't work righ...

Re: Record Left and Right rear channel audio only

Hi guys, this is my first post here I did a search and couldn't find anything on my particular topic. Is it possible to record only the left and right REAR channel audio only? I suspect that the answer is no, but I can't find any information elsewhere. If it's not possible, is there any software ou...

Re: Recovery

Hey...so I have Windows and I have no idea why but my Audacity randomly crashed before I saved my project. Nothing else crashed...but I closed the program, reopened it, and it asked me if I would like to recover my files and I, of course, hit yes. So now I have Audacity (Recovered) up and it has th...

Re: Remove Q setting from high-pass / low-pass filters

All the references in the Manual say "rolloff" but that is the author's preference. That appears to be a recent change. Up until March 20th this page used the hyphenated version http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/index.php?title=Sample_workflow_for_LP_digitization&oldid=9364 I've tried ...

Re: (FC12 and)FC14 Recording Issues Audacity 1.3.13 under Gn

Steve, Thanks for the quick reply. I did search for issues - but I get confused by Pulse and Alsa! The Audacity GUI shows ALSA on the main page and the in/out are both set to default. I also then tried the different settings for the MIC and player when the clarity went again after restarting the pro...

Re: (FC12 and)FC14 Recording Issues Audacity 1.3.13 under Gn

The first page of a Google search for FC12 brought up two hits for PulseAudio problems, so I'd guess that is a good place to start looking (unfortunately neither of those pages offered solutions). First look near the bottom of the Transport menu and ensure that "Software Playthrough" is no...
