Re: Live recording in Limbo
Audacity has no effect called "Light Gate" - what is the name of the effect you were actually running? If it's a Nyquist effect it might struggle with 22 hours or so of data, depending what effect it was. 'Volumes' is a mount point for your disk drives as I understand it. Do you have a dis...

Re: Noise and wide blue band instead of digitalizing LPs.
Not sure if this issue has been solved already. I'm new here and have not even found the water cooler or the restrooms yet. Arrived by doing a Google search on this topic as i was having exactly the same issue converting cassettes. I eventually worked my way to Edit > Preferences and changed Sample ...

What configuration options did you use?
The default values (just ./configure) should work.
When you build, the following command will also create a build log file which will make it easier to search for errors:

Re: Adware bundled with Audacity
If you download your Audacity from the proper site http://audacityteam.org/download/ there should be absloutely no adware. Be aware that there are rogue sites on the internet that distribute copies of Audacity and I suspect that they may be responsible for infecting your computer. For example the fi...

Adware bundled with Audacity
On Jul 21, 2011 05:35 AM UTC, an update to Microsoft Security Elements caused a temporary file related to the next Microsoft definition update to be incorrectly detected as Adware:Win32/Hotbar. However their detailed description went on to say: Users may be lured to a cybersquatting website, such as...

Re: How to amplify after noise removal w/out adding noise
The detective insists it is not his recorder, but the recordings I have received from him lately, even when not recorded in large, open places like jail bathrooms, sound like this recording. Could it be the way he downloads/saves the audio files? Yes, an echo effect can be created by accident when ...

Re: Need just a bit of help compiling with LADSPA categories
I am not a Linux guru but on Windows I change these in the code, not on the command line for the compiler (I know it can be do there as well but have never done so). Search each #define: Find all "USE_SLV2", Subfolders, Find Results 2, "Entire Solution", "*.c; *.cpp; *.h&quo...

Manual cueing?
Is there a way in Audacity to do manual cueing, the equivalent of moving a vinyl back and forth under the needle, or manually pulling tape over a head to zero in on a specific spot? I am trying to manually delete a momentary noise from a recorded track, but I'm having trouble zeroing in on the exact...

Re: I can only record 6 seconds or less of vinyl
Yeah the logic was that i didn't have a line in to the computer so i brought the onyx as it had a built in sound card+usb output+good quality preamps. Tried setting format to 24bit + followed applicable advice in the link you sent me. Have had an improvement - decent sound quality and no skipping d...

Re: Microphone is too quiet
Hello, i hope this is the right subforum for this problem. I have searched all over internet but haven't found a solution for this. I have bought a very cheap microphone, Vivanco dynamic mic DM10. Just want to record my voice with a song in Audacity, it doesn't have to be high quality for me. BUT.....
