Re: Audacity will not find Lame MP3 plug in. Help needed!
I struggled with this as well and finally got it to work. What worked for me was the following: - download the file: "libmp3lame-osx-universal-3.97.zip" - launch the file and let it install on your hard drive. - search your hard drive for "libmp3lame.dylib" - it's probably buried...

Re: Testing different frequencies of popular songs
I'm not sure what software is available, but I might be able to get you started. A Spectrum Analyzer or Real Time Analyzer (RTA) will show you the frequency content of a sound, but these generally only show the instantaneous frequency content at any moment, rather than for the whole song. A quick se...

The unlisted lame_enc.dll file for Audicity I need help?
When I export to a .mp3 file for Audicity, it asks for "Where is lame_enc.dll file?" I click on browse and go to C:Program FilesLame For Audicity, and the lame_enc.dll file does not show up. I clicked on Start and Find to find the file to look for the lame_enc.dll file and it says it's at ...

Re: Trimming almost-silence from the beginning and end of a
Not tried it but a quick search shows this might do the job. BUT the batch processing version is not free: http://www.mptrim.com Even with a batch feature that allowed selections you'll be better off with a tool like MPTrim than Audacity anyway, because MPTrim won't re-encode the MP3, but Audacity ...

Re: No host or available devices on 1.3.14 alpha version
In "config.log" you have: --disable-alsa This means that Audacity will be built without ALSA support, and is probably the reason that you are not seeing any devices. To do a clean build of Audacity, from inside the Audacity sourcecode directory (audacity-read-only) sudo make uninstall this...

Re: Live recording in Limbo
Hi Gale, Thanks for your very detailed response. Results are: The program has resolved some sort of compromise on the data file and now opens and plays the recording, partially. Out of 21 tracks recorded the project now only has 8 tracks, the remaining tracks list and retain the labels but contain n...

Re: Noise and wide blue band instead of digitalizing LPs.
This has become a mammoth topic. Without having to search through 5 pages of posts, can we just recap on a few items: 1) You're using Windows XP SP3? 2) The problem (as described in the title) occurs when recording from a UFO202. 3) The problem does not occur when recording from the computers sound ...

Re: Adjusting Volume and Equalizer On Old Music
If you are trying to make the music the same volume as other music on your player, you are best off using ReplayGain. Modern music has loudness techniques applied to it that are hard to replicate while still maintaining general sound quality unless you are a mastering engineer or something. If it is...
