Re: special effects
Thanks for your quick answer, Steve. I downloaded Easy VoCoder (I'm not one to search for the tough way to do things ;-) but I didn't see that effect listed under effects. (I thought it would just appear there once it was neatly placed in the audacity folder). I tried clicking it and it didn't open....

Re: Normalising Audio levels
Hmm.. there isn't an enhancement tab for my microphone, it seems. Do search thoroughly - these settings can sometimes be tucked away and remarkably difficult to find. Also look in windows Control Panel to see if there is an icon for the Turtle Beach X1 - if there is then there could be some "e...

Re: Audacity Froze While Saving
I also looked here: C:Users<user name>AppDataLocalTempaudacity_1_2_temp but found nothing... When you say you saved, were you using File > Save to save a project, or using File > Export to export an audio file? If you were saving a project, is there an .aup file corresponding to the time you saved?...

Re: How do I make audacity find/recognize ladspa plugins?
Then what's the scope of audacity's search for plug-ins when it starts up? I'm not sure, but it does appear to check the directory tree that it's in as well as its plug-in folder and /home/<user>/.audacity-files/plug-ins/ and if defined as an environmental variable it checks there as well. under op...

Re: How do I make audacity find/recognize ladspa plugins?
I wasn't suggesting that you installed Audacity to the same directory as the LADSPA executables, just that you installed it to the same tree - that is, to /usr/ (which is the default directory used by most distros) rather than /usr/local/ Oh, sorry. Then what's the scope of audacity's search for pl...

Re: Audacity Froze While Saving
Audacity 1.3 Beta Could you tell me what the last number is: 1.3.? I did a search for .au files but only old stuff came up. Hmm, not looking good. What sort of project were you working on at the time? Was is a recording (for example a microphone recording) or were you editing file(s) that you had i...

Re: Recording in-game sound AND voice
Your particular computer may not permit you to record “what-u-hear” (i.e. the game sounds).

Re: (solved) can see waveform but not hear audio
Assuming that the original files are still on your flash drive, copy the entire flash drive to your computer hard drive into a new folder so that you have a back-up copy. You should not be doing anything with .AUD files. The Audacity Project file has the extension .AU P . If you open the AUP file in...

Re: Click track / time track hybrid?
What you are describing is a type of "Tempo Mapping" by which logical time (bars and beats) is mapped against real time (hh:mm:ss). This is related to (but different from) a suggestion on the Feature Requests page of the wiki for "snapping to beats". (search that page for Snap to...
