Re: Uninstall

"libmp3lame.dylib" to Trash. 'Find' does not return a hit for that file. I must have one because MP3 export works. Is that because it's in /usr and you need to search protected folders to find it? If freddie29 got the zip of LAME and installed it in his own user space then FInd should fin...

Re: Recording a synth question

Well, I don't have the control panel in my tray, though I also don't have the normal volume control (I've tried getting it back to no avail). I think my system might be a bit screwy. Anyway I did a search for SoundMAX and found a folder under Program Files/Analog Devices/SoundMAX. There were a coup...

Re: Recording a synth question

I just can't get Stereo Mix to do anything in Audacity. I think that's the bit we need to concentrate on first. So as not to complicate the issue with ASIO and VST, lets see if we can get Audacity to record anything from the Stereo Mix input. SoundMax might still have its own control panel in the W...

Re: problem recording streaming audio

You have to have line-in both visible and enabled in "Sound" for Audacity to see it. If you click the Windows globe and click "Control Panel" > "Hardware and Sound" and look in "Sound", is there any separate control panel for your sound device apart from the l...

Re: Export at a Bit Rate vs Resample

SoX also displays useful info about the format when you use it to play a file. It's a terrific program and free, but it's command-line driven, many of the command arguments are unintuitive and the documentation is horrible. I search the blogs for better descriptions of its features and usually find ...

Re: MD5sum for v1.2.6 for Windows

my point being that if users always use one of the official download links then they are extremely unlikely to get a hacked version of Audacity, whereas if they download from "some other website" then the chances of getting a hacked version are IMHO dangerously high. We can never stop Aud...

Re: Recording problems on Windows 7 - Beats Audio

On the earlier release of Audacity, I could select "record what you hear" and this worked great Was that on the same computer with the same operating system? For YouTube it's quicker (and better sound quality) to download the file directly from YouTube and then convert the file to Audio. ...

Re: MD5sum for v1.2.6 for Windows

There are mirror locations listed on our download pages, though, in other words: http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/files/ SourceForge will by default serve from the mirror closest to your detected location, but it has at least a dozen mirrors. Also we do use my site for Audacity Windows / Ma...
