Re: Can't record XP sound at the same time as Mic audio!

Hi there I've just downloaded Audacity in order to record my voice over tutorial videos on you tube. However I can't see a way to record my voice through my mic at the same time as the sound coming from my computer, so they can be put together into one sound file. Is there a way to do this?? I'm ru...

Re: Export mp3 takes too long to save

The Xing encoder was generally considered to be the fastest MP3 encoder. However was not free, the sound quality was inferior to most other MP3 encoders, and it appears to be discontinued. You may still find an old version for download if you search the Internet. It was superseded by the Helix MP3 E...

Re: Missing Audio Data Blockfile(s)

Occasionally, these "missing" AU files are still on your computer but in a different location/folder. Try searching your hard drives for one of the missing files using the Windows search function, make sure you search hidden and system folders, just in case.

Recording Issues

I am using a Samson C01U Microphone to record music. On Audicity it comes out kind of muffled, I've already did the sound device preferences. I'm using a mac, I've read in the manual something about a C01U Driver Software, does that help? If so is there a available download link for it? Because when...

Re: Piano mp3 to MIDI

Audacity has no support for MIDI. While Audacity probably can't directly help Yasick, a blanket statement like that isn't really true. Audacity (Beta) does import (but not play) MIDI and can do cut and paste edits on MIDI files, then export the edited MIDI file. @Yasick, I tried a few MIDI search e...

Re: Expand Audacity

Thank you, Edgar! Your help keeps me going! On more thing to clarify: my Audacity should get a full qualified path with the input and the output argument, e.g.: "C:UsersmeDesktopAudacity.exe" -input "C:UsersmeMusicinputsinput.wav" -output "C:UsersmeMusicoutputsoutput.wav&quo...

How to remove very short bouts of silence successfully?

Its for one of my albums that has been joined together as one single mp3, with obvious short gaps (between each song). Not so good for listening to, eg with orchestral music, and especially dance, that often contain far more shorter tracks than what is common. I had initially thought joining the tra...
