Low pass filter

To reduce a bad noise (bzzz......) on my guitar track (realized directly by mono-micro-jack from guitar to PC without intermediate tools) I applied a low pass filter (1888 Hz). Search of Hz value was made trying step by step. Then I applied the noise removal effect and the final result is good, but ...

Re: Expand Audacity

I checked out the latest Beta development source code I am still experiencing weird behavior if I save a (wave) file under its own file name. Could it be, that the saving process is interrupted by any code? To answer that final question, you will need to do a bit of detective work. If the problem o...

Re: Recording from a Digital Piano

It sounds pretty good to me considering that it is in a lossy format (MP3). The quality will be a little better if you export as WAV or FLAC (but much bigger file size). Was the original recording mono, or have you converted it to mono just for uploading? I have got the WAV file as well (which is h...

Re: Recording from a Digital Piano

I'm not sure of the forum policy for bumping old threads As you are continuing an ongoing discussion that's fine. It's not quite as clear as I thought it would be, so do you have any tips on how I could improve it It sounds pretty good to me considering that it is in a lossy format (MP3). The quali...

Re: a mono track into 4 speakers?

One of the supervisors on 4West checked in with some ideas. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alesis-ADAT-XT-8-channel-Excellent-condition-studio-kept-/300614326982?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45fe029ac6 > Alternately, you could go with a portable digital multi-track and not worry about encoding or dec...

Re: Audacity icon remains in Dock

Control-Click on the icon > Show in Finder That should show you where the icon points. When I Control-Click (right-click if you have a two button mouse) on my Audacity icon, it points to the "Audacity" folder. Search for the Audacity folder reveals that it's in /Applications I have Finder ...

allow links to Effects in the plug-in folder

I did some experimentation and found that on Windows, if you put a link to an effect (file--which resides on some other drive) in the plug-ins folder, the plug-in fails to be installed. Re: Listening and recording at the same time

First, I'm an almost brand new user. I'm technical when it comes to PCs, but I'm not very knowledgeable about recording. I've searched the wiki and the forums. I couldn't find anything, though this was a difficult one for me to figure out how to search. I am a songwriter. I have digitally recorded ...
