Re: Help! 1.3.14 install problem!
Hi Steve, I modified my last post a bit, and added this. Is this important? I bit confusing for me, but these files... Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest msvcp90.dll msvcr90.dll ...are in my 1.3.14 folder, but I did a search of the windows system files, and the are not there! What would happen if I copied ...

Re: Help! 1.3.14 install problem!
Thanks Steve. Yes, it is 1.3.14 I was talking about in the my original post above. I mentioned 1.3.13 only as it was also a zip file that works fine for me, so I didn't think the 'zip' part was the problem. I read the link you provided. I bit confusing for me, but these files... Microsoft.VC90.CRT.m...

Re: Newbie noise reduction help
Thanks for your reply. I'm going to read it and test it in a few. The noise is constant and the same, this is due to a huge air ventilation fans within the space the interviews are taking place. I don't mind noise and background noises due to people working in the space nor the fan noises but I do n...

Re: "Setup.h" not found
Each one opened up until #include "wx/setup.h" which did not open. That's crap, there's a big long error message and I can't copy it. The error begins: File 'wx/setup.h' not found in current source file's directory or in build system paths. So I copied setup.h to C:wxWidgets-2.8.12include...

moving to wxWidgets 3.0
Currently Audacity will not build with any wxWidgets release beyond the 2.8 series; wx29 has many bug fixes which might benefit Audacity but the Audacity code needs some massaging to make it wx29+ compliant. The included patch is stale and will need to be applied manually, it was current as of when ...

Jump to next silence
When invoked, this would move the cursor to the next silent portion of the track. This would be useful for finding audio dropouts, separations between audio segments, etc. It could even be turned into a general find option, where the user could use it to search for the next/previous part of the trac...

It is called "sibilance"
See http://www.recordingreview.com/articles/articles/25/1/A-Few-Tips-For-Reducing-Vocal-Sibilance/Page1.html You may have a mic problem, or your subject may need vocal training to eliminate it. Depends on which one of the two is the real problem. Maybe there's software that can help afterwards, once...

Re: suggestion - horizontal lines on the audio panel
Sorry about repeating what was asked before. I guess I could not search for the old query effectively. Thanks. :) It's fine to repeat what was requested before - the "repeat" is your own vote to add to those of the other voters. I doubt this will get implemented but there is more chance t...

Re: Making a remix from an acapella track?
It is difficult to do pella mixes in Audacity, but it can be done. Beat matching is a problem i have found. MixMeister's BPM Analyzer does an ok job of finding the bpm of a particular track, although acapellas have no audible beat. You might be able to find the bpm from the original track or record ...
