Re: Muting music
What I understand (my English is not so good) is, that you handle this after making the program. I search for muting the music while recording. So muting for an few seconds and than to the normal level.

Re: 1.3.14 hardware requirement
Gale, Steve, Thanks a lot for your help! Indeed I think my XP box is pretty well protected. I use avira antivir, sygate firewall and spybot and spyblaster. I actually have two of them, one quite old one which got a problem with the display (the guy in the shop told me it's not worth the effort to lo...

Can't record from Tape USB device
Hi, I am having the same problem with trying to record and my music is not playing back when I try listening to it. I am using the Audacity 1.2.6 and I see a wave when the music is being recorded. I have XP on my computer and I didn't know if I needed to up grade to the 1.3 or not. Plus I see that t...

1.3.14 hardware requirement
Hi, I'm new here. I did some search but found no answer... I've been using audacity on an XP machine occasionally. Now that computer won't do it any more and I'm thinking of getting a new one. Now, there's almost exclusively Windows7 machines out there (I'd like to stick to windows). What I don't un...

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
BINGO! marcfilmer, you ROCK!! You know, you search and search and dig deeper and deeper to find the solution to your problem. Sometimes it seems to be a real Easter egg hunt. Maybe this solution was already raised to the FAQ, maybe not. I'm as green as a forum user can get on the Audacity Forum, so ...

Re: Can't save my projects!
I found those uninstall files and double clicked on unins000.exe. All it did was remove those two files. The rest of the program folder is still intact. When first I came to Audacity I went through about the same thing; I installed the "stable" 1.2.6 not realizing how old and "unstab...

Re: Importing WMA
If it will not even play on the computer then there is nothing that Audacity can do with it.
Try searching Google for "migrate DRM license" or similar search terms.

Add vinyl record effects to .mp3
This is a very difficult search because everyone wants to go the other way, but is there a way to add vinyl record sounds to an .mp3?
It doesn't have to be with audacity, but I figured if it could be done, audacity could do it.
Thanks

Re: Help! 1.3.14 install problem!
msvcp90.dll and msvcr90.dll may be hidden files or in a hidden folder so when searching for them hidden files need to be included in the search options. Having said that the files may not be present, in which case I think that you may be able to just copy them from the Audacity folder into C:Windows...
