Re: Can't drag & drop MP3 from Explorer into Audacity window
Frank, Who was the driver provider for the Realtek device, as shown in Device Manager? If it was "Microsoft" or even Realtek then you don't have proper drivers. You want drivers made by the computer or motherboard manufacturer. You can confirm that the Windows Audio or Windows Audio Endpoi...

Re: Can't drag & drop MP3 from Explorer into Audacity window
Frank, since you can resolve the d'n'd problem using SafeMode the next step is to figure out what is causing the problem. How are you entering SafeMode? What services are you disabling? Feel free to post screen/window grabs here! As an example...Run msconfig from the search/run field of the Start Me...

Re: Audacity won't start under Ubuntu 11.10
Apparently you successfully built and installed audacity from source in the past, even if you didn't notice it :) What would happen if I tried to compile the latest version from source - would it overwrite the local version (not the Ubuntu repo. version) and solve the problem? Not really. Even if yo...

Re: Retrieving material from Data folders
It would pay very handsomely for you to find those AUP files. What happens if you either Desktop > File > Find, or Desktop > Spotlight (magnifying glass usually all the way over on the right). Search for dot a u p. .aup If you search for straight aup with no dot, you'll get billions of bad hits. Sin...

Re: Audacity won't start under Ubuntu 11.10
How did you install Audacity? Synaptic? Software Centre?
Which version of Audacity do you have installed (if installed from the Ubuntu repository, open Synaptic and search for Audacity and it will show a version number).

Re: Please supply link to download PDF Manual for V1.3.4-bet
I can't think of any good reason to use an obsolete version of Audacity, except perhaps for an ancient Windows 98/ME machine. As far as I know, 1.3.14 ANSI should work on Windows 98/ME, although the ANSI builds do break occasionally if the developers include functions that only work in Windows 2000...
