Re: Converting to MP3
What did you call the file? You should not use punctuation marks in your filenames. That drives computers crazy. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash and underscore. That's it. Can you use Windows Search to find your music? You should not try to reuse filenames, either. Windows and Audacity b...

Re: 1.3.14 unable to open libmp3lame.dylib
Yes, I meant the folder that the Audacity.app was located in. You could try searching Finder for all instances of "libmp3lame.dylib" (include hidden folders in the search). Delete all of the "libmp3lame.dylib" files except the one you have in Applications/Audacity. You may have t...

"Autotalent" is a free pitch changer plug-in which works on Audacity, but like Steve says Audacity doesn't work in real time, (i.e. live).

Re: Podcasting with two microphones. Echoing problem.
Do you guys know of any way to correct this in post-production? Noise Removal? Or anything else? There is a free plugin called Kn0ck0ut (Windows only) which will spectrally subtract one track from another. You could align the two tracks so the original voice on one track coincides with its echo on ...

Re: Please help, projects won't open.
The original opens without any prompt (but is still incomplete with periods of silence) Shouldn't do, unless you chose to make the silence permanent in the missing files dialogue. I have the backup file of "Episode1 - Copy.aup.bak" but it won't seem to let me open that. Is there any way t...

Re: Audacity with Avid Eleven Rack - no wet signal
According to the manual of the Avid audio drivers (page 8 of the link below) I'm supposed to see various options for input to enable me to select a 'wet' guitar signal. Thanks for posting the link (saves us from having to search on line for the manual ;) ) Page 8 refers to using ASIO drivers. Unfor...

Re: recording a vinyl album at one setting
The solution is to ensure you have at least some absolute silence at the beginning and end of each track. My preference is for a fraction of second of silence before the audio for a track starts and at least a 1-second fade out after the audio for a track ends. I call this "isolating" the...

Re: free plug ins
I love Audacity completely, even though it's more of a backup of my backup main recording systems. I mainly use it solely for capturing steaming audio on the Net and for quick editing and trimming of various .WAV clips when I don't want to load the big boys. I find it great for clip conversion to ot...
