Re: Backing up and Archiving
Once again, that is manifestly not true! Looking at your screen capture, highlighted in blue just a couple of lines below " Overview of an Audacity project " (near the top of the page) it says: " If coming back to your project later, it's always a sensible precaution to export a loss...

Re: Support Files
It is helpful feedback for the people that post help on the forum if they know whether their suggestion has worked. Also it can be useful for other users that search the forum looking for solutions to a problem that they may have. As to support files, I was watching a tutorial in YouTube, and the pe...

Re: Backing up and Archiving
The page I actually pointed to has good information about making a backup copy of an Audacity project. The title of the section is "Making a backup copy of a project". Once again, that is manifestly not true! When I right-click on the link you gave and open it in a new window, I get the p...

Re: Backing up and Archiving
If we are talking about backing up Audacity projects it's already covered in http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects . That is manifestly untrue! Using Firefox's Find command on that page reveals just two instances of the string "back" (without the quotes). That page says nea...

Re: Date time formatting possible? (For label plugin)
I also see a lot of further discussion about this subject above that I swear wasn't there yesterday. Did I not see it, or did it somehow get moved here from elsewhere? If it had been posted there originally, I thought I should have got email notifications. Audacity is hosted by Google, and the Auda...

Re: Backing up and Archiving
Doesn't this whole subject warrant an entry in the FAQ, Tips, Tutorials or Wiki somewhere? I see Bill is drafting something for the Manual, but as regards backing up Audacity Projects the Wiki has http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips#Making_a_backup_copy_of_a_project . Curiously e...

Re: sounds move from left channel to right channel sporatica
Would Audacity run without XP services packs, 1, 2, or 3? I would not recommend uninstalling Service Packs unless your current issues started directly following installation of SP3. Have you tried that System Restore yet? Have you considered other applications to record stereo mix? This one bypasse...

Re: Backing up and Archiving
And I notice that no-one's rushing to volunteer to write the initial draft ... Every time I think about it I run into the issues outlined in my previous post - the backup method depends on the project, as well as other backup protocols the user also has. -- Bill Not to mention OS. I propose...

Re: Applying chains to Flac keeps crashing Audacity
I don't know how much this applies to current OS X versions, but on my old Mac (until OS X 10.3.9), there was a Mac system configuration file under: [user]/Library/Preferences/net.sourceforge.audacity.plist Whenever I had "mysterious" problems with Audacity, I deleted this file, and my pr...
