Re: Can Not Start Audacity, Ardour, Sweep, Etc.
Please give us enough background information to go on. What distro of Linux? The three-section Audacity version number at Help > About Audacity? Are you running JACK? See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Linux_Issues#JACK for information on JACK and Audacity. For what application are those console ...

Include PRESETS for default plugins!
I just also hate manually looking up tutorials (like the wiki links) maybe this will be for another thread(?) but including presets pre-saved with the open source version of audacity would be quite awesome as well example: Reverb plugin has Halls, Small Room, Medium Hall, Concert hall, etc preset b...

iRig and Audacity.
I don't know if you guys have dealt with this at great lengths or not, but the search function yeilded no results for any topics about, "iRig," so I apologize if this is redundant. I'm trying to record electric guitar to audacity via the headphone jack of a fender frontman, through an iRig...

Re: Most frustrating.
Right, I've had a good search, and have reached the conclusion that the problem is not Audacity, but Pulse Audio. (You did ask me if I was using Pulse!) There are just too many options for sound adjustments. I seem to have a screen full of sliders at times, when all I'm trying to achieve is a simple...

Re: Backing up and Archiving
...I see Bill is drafting something for the Manual, but as regards backing up Audacity Projects the Wiki has http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips#Making_a_backup_copy_of_a_project . Curiously enough, entering "backup" in the Wiki search box finds it. Potentially useful l...

Re: i export a file to an MP3-i see it-then i can't find it!
Is this your computer? If not, your computer administrator may impose restrictions on what you can do and see. If it is your computer, log on with your administrator account. Click the Windows globe and type "explorer" (without quotes). Then open Explorer and choose Organize > Folder and S...

Re: i export a file to an MP3-i see it-then i can't find it!

Re: Backing up and Archiving
But Gale's link didn't go to the wiki page. That's a problem with long topics. From earlier in this thread: I see Bill is drafting something for the Manual, but as regards backing up Audacity Projects the Wiki has http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips#Making_a_backup_copy_of_a_proj...

Re: Backing up and Archiving
Indeed it is, and nowhere in those results is there a section titled Making a backup copy of a project (my emboldening, italics and underscore). QED!steve wrote:This is the search result page for "backup": http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Spec ... ext=Search
