Re: How to retrieve .aup data
Are your students using the latest Audacity 2.0.2? See Audacity > About Audacity. Older 1.3 versions may not recover projects properly from crashes. If your student does not recover all the audio data that they had before, then the best course is to open Help > Show Log... and look for data errors. ...

Overdubbing a soft-synth w/o recording the 1st track
Howdy, I can't be the first person to ask this question so I apologize for asking something that has certainly been asked before but my search skills failed to locate. I'm running V2.0.1 on Windows Vista. I opened a previously recorded drum track in Audacity, a wav file recorded in a studio. I'm try...

Sound track from Youtube
Windows 7 home premium. I simply want to record and put on my mp3 player a few sound tracks from Youtube videos. Like Adele and Patsy Cline. I tried a few google search advise posts but no luck. When I do record them how do I get them into Windows Media Player or some program that can see my mp3 pla...

Re: Newbie - Help needed in removing Backgrond/Noise/Pops/
Hi, Sincere apologies for duplicate entries on this issue. I did try to search for a 'delete' icon but couldn't find it. Re - Damaged audio : I converted the audio sample into .wav format and what you hear is what I could hear on the Audacity-Project. I used the inbuilt microphone functionality of t...

Re: finding and marking small gaps
Yes he will :P Fortunately there is already a more precise version of Silence Finder on this forum. I'll have a look for it. If I can't find it then it's an easy modification to make Silence Finder more accurate. Fortunately there is also a plug-in that can help to speed this up. Again I will need ...

Rank beginner-split tracks?
Win7 + Audacity 2.0.2 from .exe I searched FAQ's and the tutorial but had no idea what keyword to use to search the docs. I have meditation CD's that normally arrive with 2 separate FLAC files: a 'Dive' and an 'Immersion'. I would then convert the FLAC format to ALAC and xfer to the iPod. The compan...

Re: Pro-grammable fade
This penguin thing starts to be a nuisance. no proper playback available No key navigation in multichoice controls plug-ins can be anywhere When found the folder is likely read-only and what next? As one of the developers once said to me: "welcome to the joys of cross-platform programming"...

Won't export selection
So I just downloaded Audacity because I recorded a long performance on my phone and needed to break it up into the different pieces. I downloaded the Lame MP3 converter add-on and figured out how to work the export selection to save each piece and it all worked great... until it doesn't anymore. Now...

Re: Pro-grammable fade
The configuration tool no more saves an *.cfg file It modifies the Pro Fade Out plug-in directly. Unfortunately that is not a reliable solution because the plug-ins folder may not be a sub folder of *default-sf-dir*. On my computer the set-up plug-in returns "Pro Fade Out could not be found&qu...
