Re: How do I search the manual?
Searching for phrases often works well with Google. To search for a phrase rather than separate words, put the phrase in quotes. For example, this search took me straight to the page I was looking for: site:http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/ "Label Tracks" rather than lots of irrelevant hit...

Re: How do I search the manual?
Hey, the Google trick is killer! I had no idea you could do that with Google. Is there a way to find anything other than the first occurrence of the search term or to step through the occurrences? "Next" in other words.

Is Normalize with MP3 Levels Lossless?
Am helping a friend compile a demo collection of tunes recorded on both older analogue and newer digital equipment. When we listened to these tunes on a MP3 Player there was a significant variation in loudness. Did a search and found Amplify and Normalize Wiki http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?...

Re: How do I search the manual?
Unfortunately the "frozen" 2.0.3 manual that is included with Audacity does not have a search function. However, the on-line development version does have search (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Main_Page). There will be some differences in this manual as it is being constantly updated ...

How do I search the manual?
I can't find the search box for locating terms in the manual. How do I do that?
Not index, not FAQ, but search.
Thanks

Re: Audacity - Can it replace "Sound Recorder" in Microsoft
We don't make Word, so we don't know if it can be configured to change the audio recorder it uses. I rather doubt it - a search on Google found nothing helpful. Look in Word options or press F1 in the program for help, or ask on the Microsoft Forums. You can probably take the alternative approach of...

Re: Tinny sound and predominantly left-of-centre sound
Ragnar - Thank you, thank you , thank you! I and everyone else was right, it was indeed trying to record the sound via the computer's in-built microphones... I could not see how to set it to anything else though? as all the options that there were in Audacity and in Windows made no difference to it....

Re: windows does not recognize
You will need to speak to DB-Tech about that - we only make the free software that DB-Tech (and may others) bundle with their hardware. Or you can search the internet for drivers for that device ( but be careful where you visit - there are some dangerous websites out there). I am somewhat surprised ...

Re: switch to Spectogram display by code
Okay, wake up <grin>! Now I have a better idea of what you are trying to accomplish and can recommend some steps and give you some pointers to the appropriate code. At some point it's going to be mandatory for you to install an SVN client; TortoiseSVN is your best bet as it is known to work extremel...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
Does anybody out there have any EQ curve presets that work well as starting point for live rock concert recordings? This is all personal taste. Try some presets in the FEQ file, look in your operating system control panel to see if your sound card has an Equalizer with a rock preset that you can co...
