Re: Silent orphaned files - any hope?

We record a three hour long podcast, and during the closing of the last show the computer froze. If it's running out of battery, set up power management in the Windows Control Panel so you are alerted to running low. If it's not a battery problem, try here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_e...

Re: "Some projects were not saved properly..."[SOLVED]

Glad it was solved. I couldn't find the folder with the corrupt file in it. Spotlight was returning no matches for the filename. Spotlight won't search the user's Library by default. To search there you have to press the "+" button in the search result, choose "System files" for ...

Re: Unable to open audacity 2.0.3

You picked the weenie more than you think because recording both sides of a Skype call is even more crazy than just recording straight shows. On Windows, the hero software is the four Pamela software licenses. Pamela for Mac gets search hits, but they're not actual software hits. They just return yo...

Distortion only when using Software Playthrough?

I've Googled this and dug through forums using "Software Playthrough" as search term. No luck. Distortion (click/crack) ONLY occurs when Software Playthrough is enabled. All Audacity meters show sound levels are not clipping or even close (peak is about -15). Preamp (see setup below) does ...

Re: Equalization preset curves dissapear

I downloaded Chris Compressor from "audacity to podcast blog" and put it in the /usr/share/audacity/plug-ins folder. I'm not sure how a self-compiled version is finding Chris' plug-in there. With a default ./configure, self-compiled Audacity should not be looking in /usr/share/audacity/pl...

Re: Split recordings

What do you want exactly to do? It is possible to search for a specific sound within a track by convolving, i.e. if the searched clip (not longer than about 2 seconds) is found, the amplitude will be extremely high at the matching point. These points can afterwards be tagged with labels. The plug-in...

Re: How do I search the manual?

In the HTML Manual you can hover over an area of an image map, see a tooltip relating just to that specific part of the interface, then click that part of the image to go to the relevant section in the Manual. Gale Ah, yes. I see what you mean. I'm not adept enough with PDF to fix it though, darn i...

Re: How do I search the manual?

Feel free to copy and use them if you wish. Edit at will. I removed all the silly headers and footers the conversion created. Thanks for whatever you did. Conversion of a set of Wiki-created HTML pages to a PDF is something of a challenge for any software. That challenge is what has prevented us re...
