Re: need help removing plug-ins
There is nowhere else Audacity loads plug-ins from except for the VST_PATH environment variable. It is not likely that exists unless you created it yourself. Did you search in both the system library and your user library for both VST and Audio Units? You can try resetting Audacity. http://manual.au...

Re: My narrator's pause-trimmer
It is indeed a little confusing with all the selecting steps. Let me see if I got it right: - The purpose of the first selection is to preview the section you're working with. - You then play this section and re-set the left margin where (according to your "feel") the sentence should start...

default keyboard shortcuts fail[WORKAROUND]
Hi, using audacity 2.03 built from source on linux Mint LMDE, patched and up to date.use of the keyboard fails either from startup or after a short time. If I quit audacity and restart, they might come back for a short while, but always fail again shortly after. Everything works fine in Windows, so ...

Re: Selection Click Behavior Changed (for the worse)
Steve, thanks for replying. I now realize when my initial click causes the cursor to land to the right (instead of the left), I don't have to "search" for the left boundary by trial and error clicking; instead, I can press the left arrow to move it one frame to the left, which is where the...

Re: Lost Project
Ok, here's the deal I left the project on my desktop and when I went back to it I clicked on the fit project button and all the data disappeared from the Audacity desktop. I had only recorded the file, I did name the file which is how I found the data folder. The filename was simply Little Big Horn....

Re: "Cut Preview" improvements, also an "Uncut Preview"
I am visually impaired and here are my views on the subject. The c preview is fine but maybe just too much in the sense that it plays both, 1 s before and 1 s after the selection. I would prefer if those sections could be played individually. Imagine me defining a word in a sentence. I let the sente...

How to decrease volume of a music file?
I'm a complete newbie to Audacity so forgive me if I ask a dumb question. I've searched the previous posts and the manual but don't find what I'm looking for. Of course that may be because I don't even know the right terms to search. OS AND VERSION My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate. I've downloaded an...
