Re: Audacity kills Sound after Start. (SB Audigy 2 Platinum)
Thanks Gale for your reply and your effort. If your playback list is complete, try enabling the motherboard audio, instead of using only SoundBlaster. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=205035#p205035 . I've tried near every suggestion in this forum. - Without success. I've already tr...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3
I believe I understand how to make a device the default input in Sound as you have explained it well. However, In attempting to selectively disable any inputs or outputs, for some odd reason, when I right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, followed by left clicking on "Recording Devices...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3
What I'm wanting to do is digitize music from old 45's and LP's using my turntable and convert to MP3's. It's relatively straightforward and I have the Behringer U-Phono UFO202 hardware, but it's useless unless I have the software, such as, Audacity. You said you were only using the Realtek device....

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
Of course the both effects have to be identical in structure. Which currently they are not, so if you want to search for sounds and use point labels, then hard luck, or if you want to search for silences and use region labels, again, hard luck, or if you want the labels numbered and search for sile...

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
I actually prefer two effects instead of one. The Analyse menu does not contain an overwhelming amount of effects and if I can decide right at the very beginning if I search for Sound or silence - what's wrong about that? Of course the both effects have to be identical in structure. Ok, I use them o...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3
I appreciate this is frustrating, but I don't know the history of your machine. Have you used Audacity before? Was it you who initially installed the audio and chipboard drivers on this machine? If you have a drivers CD, have you tried installing the original drivers on that CD? If that does not hel...

If your playback list is complete, try enabling the motherboard audio, instead of using only SoundBlaster. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=205035#p205035 . Look on the ALSA / Ubuntu forums for Linux drivers for Audigy, if you have not already done so. Try installing Pulse Audio Vol...

Re: Recording level painfully low when recording from youtub
Though not directly relevant to your problem, 1.3.13 is long obsolete. Please upgrade to current 2.0.3 here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . You can download the youtube videos (or audio therefrom) as files, so you don't lose quality recording them. Search Google for how. Remember to supp...

Re: Error opening Sound device .. ck sample rate
I use an ihome mini speeker on this lap top.. as the only usb.. device Is the error occurring when you play, record or both? If it only occurs when recording, what exactly are you trying to record? If you want to to use the USB speaker as playback device, choose the "USB CODEC" as playbac...

Re: Recovery question
It would be better to search for the .AUP file. The 2.x recovery only helps if 2.x or 1.3.x crashed in use, and depends on a temporary project file called "autosave" to tell Audacity how to put the .AU files together. If you don't have the AUP file then all you can do is use the 1.2 Recove...
