Re: I need help finding the smallest portable audio recorder

What about those smaller digital recorders with mic inputs. Is there a reason they of lesser quality through the mic-in ports? Take the Sony ICD-SX1000 for example: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/925981-REG/sony_icdsx1000_digital_flash_voice.html Why would that be any worse quality than the P...

How to convert 24-bit 88200Hz to 16-bit 44100Hz

Howdy:

Maybe I'm not using the right search terms, thought someone would have asked this by now...

How do I convert 24-bit 88200Hz to 16-bit 44100Hz?

Can't find it in the help file either (Google appears to be useless for this one too)?

Is this possible with audacity?

Cheers

Re: Sound / Silence Marker

I'm still of the opinion that the current effects have the right idea a) a simple Silence Finder b) as complex as you like Sound Finder (and I guess it "could" find silence too)... [snip] ... The proposal here is I think seriously unusable for novices. Your response raises more questions ...

Re: Custom Shortcut Amplify - no luck

"Edit menu > Preferences > Keyboard" Find "Amplify" in the list of commands (select "Effect" in the "Category" list so as to narrow your search). Click on "Amplify" Click in the box below the list of commands. Press Ctrl+F12 Click the "Set"...

Re: Read, Add, Edit and Write Loop and Cue markers to Wav

Hi.

I'm a newbie at this forum here and on the subject of sampling etc.

I found this forum discussion via Google in my search to tools (like Audacity) for making Hauptwerk samples.

Has there been any progress in this subject (Editing loops etc.) since May 2011??

Re: Any way to Rip Vinyl wireless?

Haven't given up on the search for the audio connection Holy Grail. New question: would I be able to make the connection using an Ethernet? The plan would be to connect say the ART USB Phono Plus to a powerline adapter using a USB => Ethernet cable. Likewise, connect the computer's USB port to the p...

Re: Total noob, with a deadline of next Thursday!

In theory, I was hoping there might be some way to isolate the sound range of a tuba, vs. the sound 'noise' and separate the two ... Attachments Asleep in the Deep.wav (433.82 KiB) You can improve that recording in Audacity a little bit by removing all the sound above about 4KHz using the equalizat...
