Ambience plug in not showing up
I have windows 8, and it seems for all the expensive recording programs out there, Audacity is the ONLY one that does not lock up and freeze on this system. Go figure. However, I hate the reverbs available so I downloaded Ambience. I am using Audacity 2.0.4 version. I downloaded the plug in, then ma...

Set edit points during recording
Hi, I have just started using Audacity for recording church services. I would like to record most of the service so that it can be burned to DVD (e.g. for older housebound folk with no internet access), but I would also like to be able to create a clip of just the sermon to put on our website. Rathe...

Re: What are the Best vocal settings for Multiband Compreesi
You might be right about the de-essing. Here is a audio sample: Quote_31.wav IMO the main problems are ... a hint of overload distortion (mic a bit too close to mouth) the occasional click, (e.g. on "T" of "the basis"). Noise level could be reduced a bit. ''it is the basis'' bef...

How can I locate specific sounds in a recording? (RESOLVED)
Hello everyone, I’m using Audacity to record the nuisance barking of a dog. I set up the programme using timer record to start up early in the morning and allow it to run for several hours so I get quite a long recording. I can then later search through this recording looking for the barking episode...

Re: Suggestions for cheap 24-bit sound recording card
Most of that list will only run at 16 bit -- which is not dreadful. That's the bit depth of Music CDs and broadcast television. You may discover that the search for 24-bit compatible equipment is going to require considerable effort. That and you'll have to stay 24-bit in your music archives. 24-bit...

Re: No Sound or Recording
Hi, Koz - and thanks for this response. Freecorder. I had had problems before with my machine. I suspected it was something to do with the adware that was downloaded - from 'somewhere'. Had no idea where at that time. The situation became so bad that Explorer stopped working altogether, my anti-viru...

Complete Novice, very confused, please help :-)
Hi I have Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit), a Casio HT-3000 keyboard, Audacity 2.0.3 and a Roland UM-1 Midi-USB cable. (I know my equipment is a bit dated). I have watched tutorials on YouTube on how to use Audacity and I think I'm ok there (well I can pick it up), I've installed my UM-1 Midi-USB lead an...

Re: Scarlett 2i2 question
We did have a posting from someone where the unit didn't work out well. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=75206 But we think it was his system or his computer. There's no reason it shouldn't work. It's a pretty simple but complete interface. There's a problem with asking us for ...

Re: I need to have IMA ADPCM codec, does Audacity have this?
At this time I'm searching for voice over recording software for use on my iPad. If that is your search, Audacity cannot help you because it requires the Mac OS X desktop operating system. Please see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_about_audacity.html#mobile . You could search on the Appl...
