Re: CHOICE OF MANUFACTURERS FOR NEW DESKTOP COMPUTER
Hello Gale, Thankyou again for your quick response and for taking the time to find that one search result. A USB audio card can be purchased here for $19.95 (Cdn). I got the impression that this USB audio card will basically replace the computers sound card and will provide stereo mix input for reco...

Re: CHOICE OF MANUFACTURERS FOR NEW DESKTOP COMPUTER
I am looking at a HP desktop computer in their Envy 700 series which in Canada is top of their line. I discussed this issue with a HP Canada technical representative and he did not know the answer. He suggested that the only way of knowing was to purchase the computer and if I was not satisfied, re...

Re: Distant voice louder
I'm not surprised it didn't show up on a search. It's more complicated than everyone thinks. Audacity can't split apart the instruments in an orchestra in order to make one instrument louder than the others. We can't split apart the members of a chorus to make some members louder. See where I'm goin...

Distant voice louder
I have to admit I am a total noob. I did try a search but didn't find anything like what I'm looking for, unless it was completely over my head :D I have an audio recording of two people in a conversation from one of my classes. One was fairly close but the other was far away, my recorder didn't pic...

Getting volume right on burned CD's
I apologize for asking such elementary questions, but it seems I don't know the right search terms for what I need to know. I am generating CD's of bird songs as Xmas gifts. The first one I generated sounds great in my headphones but when I go to play it on a mac or win7 computer or cd player, it is...

Re: Lost Audacity Project file
Thank you, Gale, Last night, I was able to find, and recover from, a file that was only an hour back, so all is well. Still, klutz that I am, If it has happened once it will happen again, and worse. So I will study on your post later today. I have only been working with the program for a week or so,...

Re: No sound in 2.0.5
I can hear the sound being recorded via Audacity... OK that's good. Your connections are OK, and the sound is getting in & out of your soundcard. If you can hear it through the computer, you can record it. We just need to figure-out what settings to change. Windows has separate recording & ...

Re: Mijzelf even voorstellen met vragen.
The Audacity interface in the program is translated (by one volunteer) but he does not have time to also translate the Manual. If setting Audacity to run in Dutch is not sufficient then you could perhaps search the internet for other recording programs that may have help in Dutch. Almost any recordi...

Re: Circle waves
Circles have a problem because part of the wave goes backwards, from right to left. The timeline never goes backwards. It's always now to the future, left to right. There are scopes and waveforms that don't have "time" in them, like audio vectorscopes and phasescopes. Those can totally gen...

Re: How do i make drums on audacity?
I don't do this kind of thing myself, but look into MIDI . MIDI is basically "sheet music" for the computer. Just to get an idea of what can be done, if you search the Internet you can find free MIDI files that you can play on your computer using the synthesizer built into your soundcard. ...
