Re: Too much input volume and slider bars not working
My thanks to Koz and Capricorn12 for their helpful and easily understood replies. I had worked for over 40 years in IT before retiring, so the computing side of all this isn't too hard to work out - BUT my knowledge of hi-fi and sound systems could be written on the edge of a postage stamp. I have t...

Re: Lost project file
As previously stated, ask her to use File > Recent Files.
If the AUP file is not listed there, have her search her computer for it.
A folder called "**** Minutes_data" would be impossible on Windows. "*" is not valid in a file or folder name.

Re: Windows 8.1
When installing Plug-ins it doesn't respond and freezes making it unusable. I would appreciate any help on how to fix this. As Steve says you should try without adding plug-ins first, but if you reset Preferences Audacity will search for VST plug-ins to load and you will be asked to confirm install...

Re: MATLAB <--> Audacity???
Someone wrote a patch that was never evaluated as far as I know to call Octave functions from Audacity. Go through these search results: http://tinyurl.com/ok6n4wf . However you should also look at Scripting in Audacity which supports any script language that supports named pipes: http://manual.auda...

Re: Microphone not Working
Topic moved to the Windows forum. I'm using a Rockband microphone. Is that a USB microphone? Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel . Is the microphone listed as a recording device and enabled? Note that the microphone must be recognised by Windows, enabled and working, otherwise Audacity will not...

Re: lost file PLEASE HELP
It's where the folder "impromptu album_data" is now that matters. Search the computer for it. If you are not sure how to search in your version of Windows, open My Computer then press F1. You can also search for the file "e0000fb6.au" which will be in the "d00" folder t...

Re: lost file PLEASE HELP
The AUP file looks OK. This is repeating ourselves, I think. Windows Start > My Computer. Navigate to the folder that contains the folder "impromptu album_data". Folders should look like square boxes or document wallets. If you don't know where that folder is, search the computer for it. I...

Record a mix of the analogix table
Hello, I'm using Audacity, and I have to record a keyboard with an analogic table in the laptop. I connect the RCA wired to my laptop and the other end to the analogic table. When I put "start recording" it doesn't record anything. I don't know why don't record and I search information to ...

Fixing microphone distortion (AC offset)
Hello, just wanting to write about an unusual waveform that i did want to correct but was unable to. The content is just voice but the author of the compilation had to return a number of times to finish the work. But by looking at the waveform it appears the microphone he used on two occaisions prod...

Re: Recorded audio sounds slow
My workaround did not work today. However, I discovered another possible workaround: 1. Open a Firefox tab and play a YouTube (Flash) video. Leave the tab open. 2. Go to the Firefox tab that contains the Vimeo video. Play the Vimeo stream and record the audio normally with Audacity. For some reason...
