Re: Can't open Audacity anymore

Okay, so I've used the search bar and actually found and copied the folder from my backup. Unfortunately it has made it worse: eversince I copied the folder and restarted it, my whole MacBook doesn't work anymore! Worst case scenario...

Re: Setting Recording Level

I'm having trouble finding a UCA-22. The search keeps pointing me back to the UCA-222 which is the red color version of the popular USB digital converter. The units in this series are plain UCA-202, the red UCA-222, and the UFO-202 which has a phono amplifier built-in. These units can be made to wor...

Re: How to find time location of Bleeps

Thank you, Trebor ! First I had to figure out how to specify the tone to search for. Am I correct in concluding that I first generate a tone at the desired sine frequency, copy it to the clipboard, and perform the Find Sound search? That produced a new windows labeling where that frequency was found...

How to find time location of Bleeps

Hi! I've got a large file that has some scattered "bleeping" of offensive words. The bleep tone is far too loud, so I want to find their time locations and simply delete the bleep tones manually where they exist. I tried analyzing for clipping, but none was found. I plotted the spectrum and found so...

Ability to assign multiple hotkeys / key bindings to a command

I am streamlining my editing and mastering processes, and find that sometimes I would like to use the full keyboard and some multi-key (Command-Option-a) combinations to start a macro, sometimes I would like to use a keypad for one-handed use and have NUMPAD_ADD do the same thing without having to l...

Re: Audition Plugins Port

Audacity does not (yet) have a multi-band compressor. You could perhaps try the "Calf" plug-ins, though it's a bit hit and miss regarding compatible versions. If you can't get the Calf plug-ins to work, search Google for an alternative LV2 multi-band compressor. Audacity has various types of "stretc...

Audition Plugins Port

I really like Audacity's smooth and crisp backend. But there are some plugins that I use daily in Audition 3.0 that Audacity is missing. I'm confident that Audacity probably has it, I just haven't strung together the correct search string. Specifically, I'm looking for 'Multiband Compressor' and 'St...

Re: Windows 10 April Update and Mic Problem (a different one)

All of this points to some kind of sloppy code in the windows 10 driver for Yeti pro.
So that should show up in a Google search.

Re: recording four simultaneous tracks?

You didn't mention any hardware. Do you have an Audio Interface with 4 (or more) inputs? Sometimes the interface comes with software. If it didn't come with software you probably need a DAW application. This kind of software is designed from the ground-up for multi-channel/multitrack recording & mi...

I'm new here, and can't get Audacity to import m4a files. The Lame download won't work. Help?

Hi Everyone, I'm new to Audacity, I was excited to learn about it, but for the life of me I can't get it to import m4a files. I recorded something on my iPhone, it records as m4a. Supposedly you need the lame file, and edit>preferences>library is where you'd both download the LAME file and also loca...
