Re: Bit perfect editing
The format is MP4 embedded in 3GP. Do you know of a bit perfect MP4 editor? Search Google for "3gp splitter". Take care when downloading and installing - it is common for "free" downloads to either not really be free, or to be bundled with useless or even dangerous other softwar...

Re: Bit perfect editing
If the shows are really 200MB for eight hours, then it's already too late for bit-perfect editing. The shows have been saved in a compressed format and most compressors add distortion. It gets worse. Because the shows are compressed, chances are pretty good they're in MP3 and Audacity always causes...

Re: Converting Voice Data Recorder VOC Files to MP3 Files
the Windows RCA Audio file manager can convert the .voc files to .wav and the free download is at: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/search/?ks=rp5022#downloads Does it work for you? It does not understand the RCA VOC files from http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/rca/rp5022b_sample.zip . I notice the WAV ...

Re: Converting Voice Data Recorder VOC Files to MP3 Files
Don't know if this is still problematic for the o.p., but the RCA .voc format is not the same as that for Creative Labs. According to Audiovox (they made the unit for RCA it appears) if you record in HQ mode the files will be in WAV format., and Also, the Windows RCA Audio file manager can convert t...

Distributing right and left channels
Hello all, and thank you all in advance for helping out. I am a novice using Audacity 2.0.5 (exe installation) on Windows 8. I have connected a Behringer XENYX 1202FX mixer to my PC with a UCA222 interface to connect it by USB. Having no real recording background, it took me considerable time to get...

Re: Need pointers on adding feature to search pattern
I don't know if per chance an alpha version between 2.0.0 and 2.01 with this feature is available and compatible with your OS. You could uninstall your package of Audacity 2.0.0 then install the "2.0.5+" Audacity version for Ubuntu 12.04 from https://launchpad.net/~audacity-team/+archive/...

I think the version is too old for that.

Re: Cyclic digital noise in all recordings
I am having the exact same problem with the same set-up. Have you figured it out yet? I have not tried another computer or USB hub. There is no option for a power supply on the unit. If the noise is coming from the computer's power supply, that's really stupid of Tascam to not offer the option. Thi...
