Re: Searching through a file for target sound profiles.
Audacity 2.0.5 Hello, is there a way, or plug-in, that I could search through a file for (in part or whole) a target sound profile and then get the length of the profile's presence? Specifically this is for scanning through call center files for hold times greater than 5 min (by way of looking for ...

Re: Export U-Law
It is rarely a good idea to read online tutorials on other sites. The tutorials are often incorrect or don't say what version of Audacity or what operating system they relate to. We have an online Manual that is always current for the current release of Audacity. You can search it by clicking this l...

Re: How to extend the window to get spectrum of lower freque
When I tell Audacity to plot the spectrum (Analyze > Plot Spectrum...), I get a window for the spectrum, but the axis is limited to frequencies of 1000 Hz or higher. I don't see any controls to get the rest of the spectrum. How do I extend the window to get the spectrum of frequencies below 1000 Hz...

Re: Two problems: [1] audio in is only mono and [2] soft-pla
I have another question: How can I make the waveform thicker in the Audacity display window? I tried searching all over the internet by putting "Audacity waveform thickness" into a general search engine and got not one single relevant result. How do I make the waveform thicker ? Please st...

White Band Displayed Across Wave Form
Somehow I have turned on a sound-level feature and can't find out how to turn it back off. There is a white band across the center of the wave form that aligns with the plus and minus 0.5 dB marks. If I grad the edge of the band I can pull the volume up or down. The band was not there when I started...

Re: Two problems: [1] audio in is only mono and [2] soft-pla
I was using a Plantronics 770 USB audio adapter. Apparently it does only mono... this was a surprise to me because on and off for 10 years I had been using adapters and never recalled "mono" being an issue, so I'm still in shock that it doesn't give me normal stereo input. I saw that the G...

Re: Making a file "low-fi"
Thanks for the link, Trebor! (Funny wave file!) ..., if text-to-speech programs that sounded halfway comprehensible didn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd probably just go with one of those. There are free online text-to-speech converters , some realistic, some a bit "Stephen Hawking" ... ''Not...

Re: Bit perfect editing
I have searched Google, and there seems to be several programs by the name 3GP splitter. Can you be more specific? Maybe give a link?steve wrote: Search Google for "3gp splitter".
