Re: Quality Troubleshooting
Would you guys recommend anything before I start recording and using tons of filters to mask the problem? Attachments Behringer C1 x Tascam 16x08.wav (861.38 KiB) I don't think your room needs more acoustic treatment, there's just too much electrical hiss for a professional recording. Ominously the...

Playback at wrong speed
I'm trying to covert some cassettes to digital and I'm having some technical issues. I have a cassette player plugged into my M-AUDIO M-TRACK interface which is connected to my laptop via a USB cable. I'm using Audacity 2.4.2 with Windows 10. When I listen via the headphone jack on the cassette play...

Re: Resolving Noise Floor at "-inf DB" ??
There is no fix for echoes. "Big Room" sounds are permanent, so you have to not make them during the recording ... Store-bought $oftware can reduce room-reverb, but the cure is almost as bad as the disease ... 'AWS', before-after dereverb.flac The real cure is to treat acoustically-treat the record...

Re: Win7 revert, Record in mono
1) Resampling audio to lower freq changes the Tempo of the audio to higher pitch. Several down-sampled files were made without knowing what was happening. That shouldn't be happening and I can't imagine the Windows version (or the Audacity version) would make a difference. Part 3 I'd like to record...

Win7 revert, Record in mono
Hello, I've updated to 2.4.2 without knowing it may not be compatible with Win7-64. Had a few issues since updating. 1) Resampling audio to lower freq changes the Tempo of the audio to higher pitch. Several down-sampled files were made without knowing what was happening. 2) Caching while applying an...

Re: Metronome Ticks Removal
My system info used to be in my sig. Why is it not showing. I'm not recording now. These recordings were made on the fly and I'm now only editing. So I'm not interested in anything but correcting these tracks. If I can't filter these clicks out then I'll shelve these tracks and wait until I can redo...

Re: Bug - Crash after using High Qualitty Stretching
Awesome!
I did a quick search on the forum to see if anybody have reported the bug and didn't find it (I didn't look beyond 2020)
To apply the patch I think I need to uninstall Audacity first, right?
Using
on the build folder should be enough?

Re: Audition Plugins Port
I really like Audacity's smooth and crisp backend. But there are some plugins that I use daily in Audition 3.0 that Audacity is missing. I'm confident that Audacity probably has it, I just haven't strung together the correct search string. Specifically, I'm looking for 'Multiband Compressor' and 'S...

Re: Is there a simple list of options one can use with "do_command"?
Docstrings are intended to document the code. They are not intended to provide an educational course in Python programming. Learning how to program in Python is beyond the scope of the Audacity documentation. There are lots of Python tutorials on the Internet (Google search: "Python tutorials"). Lot...

Re: Can't open Audacity anymore
Okay, so I've used the search bar and actually found and copied the folder from my backup. Unfortunately it has made it worse: eversince I copied the folder and restarted it, my whole MacBook doesn't work anymore! Worst case scenario... You could try booting from the recovery partition. Hold comman...
