Re: Odd Popping Sound from Mic That I'm Trying to Mitigate
Doesn't Audacity write to the hard drive about every two seconds? You would have to be recording at a high sample rate (176400 Hz or a near neighbour) to write that frequently. But if you are recording at a high sample rate, noise being picked up when writing to disk is a very likely explanation, e...

Audacity 2.0.5 won't recognize Lame [SOLVED]
I am running Audacity 2.0.5 on Windows 7 (32-bit). I have installed Lame v.3.99.3 in C:Program FilesLame For Audacity but Audacity refuses to recognize it. If I try to export to MP3 it pops up the "Locate Lame" dialog and the .dll is exactly where Audacity expects it to be. But if select i...

I am not able to right click over the speaker near the clock, nothing there... You may need to click on the upward pointing arrow in the system tray to show hidden icons. Or click the Windows globe or press the Windows key on your computer keyboard, type the following into the search box: mmsys.cpl...

Re: Apply Chain file export problem
I'm running Audacity 2.0.0 on a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 The current version is 2.0.5 from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . I recommend you upgrade. When I batch process some files using Apply Chain (using a chain that I have created myself) the edited files are not exported into the "clean...

Re: DTMF Decoder plugin
Why do you want to use FFT? It will become rather complicated. I would use the zero crossing rate as a pitch estimator. Divide the signal into two parts, one below and one above ~1100 Hz. The two Zcr (with a silence threshold applied) gives a low-sample rate signal (e.g. 2205 Hz). You can gather the...

Re: Odd Popping Sound from Mic That I'm Trying to Mitigate
Try recording using windows native sound recorder to see if the problem is specific to Audacity ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Sound_Recorder If the problem is Audacity-specific try giving Audacity higher priority so it is not interrupted by any other processes running on the computer , (e...

Re: Audacity ® 2.0.0 (Unicode doesn't record
If you are trying to record from popular sites like YouTube or Daily Motion, in many cases you can download the videos or the audio files therefrom by installing special programs or web browser extensions or by visiting certain sites and typing the URL of the video you want to download. You can use...

Re: Can vst plugin path be custom set?
What I mean't by incremental scanning is this. Reaper doesn't scan plugins it has already recognised, therefore when a new vst/vsti is added it takes no time at all to add them into its 'database'. also the process is automatic at start up. Is this a viable future option for Audacity? Yes in one wa...
