Re: Recording Audio from Computer
This page already has all the information that is required about different methods of recording computer audio: Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows . WASAPI should be a direct digital copy of the stream. It will still capture the bell noise when your e-mail arrives, so turn off Windows...

Muting internet radio while recording
I've searched all the forums and read all the help manuals and can't find the answer to this question; I use AUDACITY version 2.06. I've been able to schedule/record internet radio; however, I can't find a way to mute or turn the volume down on the source audio. If I turn the volume down or mute the...

Re: Improved seeking
I have improved my patch again. I have also implemented "scrubbing" of a sort, for CTRL-drag. Try this! http://audacity.238276.n2.nabble.com/Patch-Seeking-and-quot-scrubbing-quot-tt7564841.html As for "complaints," I wasn't really complaining, just remarking on a minor inconsist...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
Again, I haven't plowed through the whole thread. Any time interval that stays zero for three successive will trigger an overload. The current tool seems to trigger at zero, doesn't it? Use that value x3. The overload illustration is of sound that is very close to or right on the Nyquist restriction...

Re: Importing .au type file as raw, saturation
Is this AUP file you saved listed in File > Open Recent? That would open the project or at least give you the path where you saved it in the first place. What happens if you search the computer for all AU files? You should not save projects in the Audacity temp folder. Save them to a working drive t...

That's actually a dual mono file.Username! wrote:Sorry to bring this back up. Is there anything I can do to remove the last bit of audio and static?
The stereo width is less than 1 %.
Search for a proper stereo edition of this movie (if available).

Re: Recording Sound from YouTube Videos.
I'm new at this game so please be patient with me. All I wish to do is to record the sound (music) from YouTube Videos. Why? You can download the videos, assuming you have copyright holders' permission to record in the first place. Then you get the audio and the video in the original quality. Use y...

Re: Version 2.0.6 - Restoring Cuts
I realized now that I might have posted this in the wrong place. Please feel free to move this post to the Windows forum. I believe that is where I should have reported this bug concerning the incorrect starting position when undoing a cut in 2.0.6. Done, and thanks for the report. This bug affects...

Re: How do I raise input levels or increase waveform?
The audio on the various sites (e.g. YouTube) are always set to maximum, and it's plenty loud when listening to it normally. Just not very in Audacity during record mode. Exactly how are you recording the sites? Normally one would use Soundflower - see Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Mac ...

Re: mandolin sound
Of course, a mandolin is not just a high-pitched guitar. It has pairs of strings. its own size & shape, and it has its own timbre. You might want to look into MIDI . With MIDI you can synthesize almost any instrument, or a whole orchestra if you wish. It can do everything except the lyrics. Most...
