Re: Plugin "Presence"
A little reverb will make it sound like you are farther from the mic. Use a small room size and just a touch of reverb... You want to change the sound but you don't want the reverb to be noticeable (unless you want it to sound like you are in an auditorium or a tiled bathroom). There are lots of set...

Re: Yet another total n00b
Does "craig's list" cover the UK? I just did a quick search for "recording studio" for here in LA and turned up several: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/ele/4927793533.html http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/msg/4915846941.html http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/msg/4901...

Recording from line in stops
Hi, This is my first post on this forum. I've Windows 8.1 and Audacity 2.0.4. I'm busy with recording old cassettes and I'm using Audacity to do this. It's very simple: connect the cassette decek with the line-in, press the record button in Audacity and the work starts. However, it seems impossible ...

Re: Troubly With VST Plugins
Those are VSTi (VST Instruments). Audacity currently only supports VST effects and not VST instruments. I've not tried it, but I recently had this free VST host recommended to me: http://zynewave.com/podium-free/ You will find other free VST hosts if you search with Google or whatever your preferred...

Troubly With VST Plugins
Search turned up nothing helpful, so here goes. Short version: I want to add drum patterns to tracks, and tried using two plugins that seemed great (Pianovintage 707 http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=707&id=2102 and Easy Drum 04 SE909 http://easytoolz.de/drums.html) but after multiple ...

Re: recording audio playing on windows pc?
I uninstalled the version I had and followed the instructions given but same deal, when I click the Record button that's when I get the "trial" voice every 5 seconds or so. As previously explained, Audacity supplied by us does not do that. So if you really downloaded Audacity from us, som...

Credible Voice Changing Effect Recipes
Hello! I'm interested in doing some voice acting for an upcoming series of videos, and will be doing several different voices. All (most) youtube tutorials dealing with voice changing deal with sounding like Darth &%#%* Vader , and a few are guides for speech clarification and resonance enhance...

Re: Record audio from YouTube video - Windows 7
I just want to convert some "sleep whisperer" YouTube videos to audio, like this one -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxeJVoLZN3A -- so I can put them on a CD and get some sleep. Surely there's a way. Rather than record the audio as it plays, you can download the audio of the videos dir...

Re: A few questions re headphones for audio book recording..
Your recording studio in a bandana has hum electrically flying through the air? That sounds Back to the Futuresque. That's the theatrical description of the problem, but it's absolutely true. If you walk into my third bedroom at night, your ears pop from the quiet except the very tiny window leakag...
