I am quite new to Audacity and cannot find an answer by using the search box.

Re: Samson usb meteor mic whitenoise
I have had background noise on my Mac with every single microphone that I have used -- USB, 1/8" jack, you name it. I use a software solution to do live denoise of the signal. If you are on Windows, the specific tech will be different but the principles are the same. Here is the general "a...

Working with a very large (100+) clip library
Hi all, My dad has been editing interviews with SAWPro for 15+ years, and he's now trying to switch to something more modern. His basic workflow is something like this: 1. Load an audio file (up to an hour or so long) into SAWPro 2. Split it into 30+ named clips 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 four more tim...

These topics: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=86704 http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=86720 have some possible workarounds including trying manufacturers' audio drivers for Windows 7 or 8.1, rolling back to Microsoft audio drivers, trying generic Realtek d...

If you just want to hear what a track or project sounds-like in mono there are plug-in effects which allow you to manipulate the stereo-image, from wide-stereo, to mono , or anywhere inbetween ... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Stereo_Butterfly_.28static.29 https://www.go...

I'm not sure how to reference my folder of input files and a location for the output. http://sox.sourceforge.net/sox.html - see "Synopsis" at the top of the page. https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sox-users https://sourceforge.net/p/sox/mailman/search/?mail_list=sox-users Gale

Re: How to Automate Equal Distance?
If the clips are on separate tracks, perhaps you could Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End , Tracks > Mix and Render to put them in one track, then search for a plugin to suit your purpose. If the clips are of equal length, you could try Regular interval audio splitter . If there are silences a...

Re: Thinklabs version for recording heartbeats
So if you've been reading the mail, you know that we give the same response to you as to the people trying to record bats conversing. Audacity is perfectly happy managing both if you can get the sound into the computer. Typical microphones won't go either up or down that far in frequency. Everybody ...
