Re: Getting 7.1 output to work properly?

Information could be there and I just plain miss it We're aware that is a problem. Unfortunately when we freeze the manual for release, we cannot keep the Search function (because it uses server-side scripting). However, there are a couple of useful search tips. One is to search Google with the que...

What is that? It certainly isn't a version of Windows.

If this is for a legal case, use your favourite search engine to look for "audio forensics". Only qualified forensics practitioners will have the credentials to provide legally admissible evidence.

Re: Help ME! Removing Background Noise!

These are cases that are recorded by another party [...] Isn't there some kind of CSI stuff? Not with Audacity. We can't and won't help you with legal investigations, if that is what you are doing, because you need a known, qualified audio forensics expert to work on your sounds to make them legall...

Re: USB Vinyl to Computer all sound tinny

A while back there seemed to be a fashion emerging for cleaning LPs with PVA adhesive smeared on, left to dry and later peeled off. I personally never tried that but have a look at this Google search: https://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?fr=mcafee&type=C011GB0D20140712&p=clean+lps+wood+glue WC

In preparation for Mac OS X El Capitan...

With the new Mac OS releasing this week, I was curious is there are any known Audacity issues other have experienced with the GM currently being used by beta testers? I did a search but didn't seem to find any issues which would raise a red flag when upgrading to the new OS. I imagine this question ...

Re: how to enable lamemp3 recorder

Re: Android to Cloud to Windows?

I want to to be able to record a short podcast on an Android device (Samsung mini tablet) and then somehow move it to my laptop so that I can edit it in Audacity. How can I do that? Sorry to be ignorant, but how do I push up this fairly large file into "the cloud" so that I can edit it on...

Re: Audacity hangs on startup

Ideally after adding a PPA, you would run Code: Select all sudo apt-get update before the "(sudo) apt-get install <name of PPA>". If you prefer graphical interfaces, you can also do this using "Synaptic" Package manager (which personally I much prefer to the "Software Centr...

Nearly everything greyed out [SOLVED]

MacBook Pro 2009, OS X 10.10.5, Audacity 2.1.0 I downloaded a fresh copy of Audacity but found initially that I couldn't change Devices from inbuilt Mike to the Combination Input from the Device Toolbar. I went to the Audacity Preferences but found they were greyed out. Exploring further, I find tha...
