Re: Difficulty with Audacity
I've been using Audacity for a quite a while and love it. While these forums are great I usually find I can solve a problem by using google search. I have come here as a last resort and gleaned some great info. I would urge others here to take a good look around before submitting questions here. Al...

Re: Issues with guitar recording
Do you have an adapter like this that breaks-out the microphone & headphone connections? Note that a microphone input is "not correct" for a guitar so you probably won't get the best quality. I was looking at USB sound cards and 6.35 mm -> USB adapter cables Of course, USB is digital so even if it l...

Unable to get Audacity to recognize FFmpeg
Hello! I'm having trouble importing audios. I currently have Audacity (or Audiotonic) 2.4.2, Lame 3.100 built in, and FFmpeg 2.2.2 all downloaded and installed, but I'm still not able to import audios? I've gone to <<Edit>> <<Preferences>> <<Libraries>> where it says that Lame is built in but "FFmpe...

Re: Audacity + VLC for video dubbing
Hi @dueronet I bumped onto this thread via an internet search and I noticed it was not all too old and still a relevant question. As my follow-up quest resulted in some nice finding, I thought it would be good to reply here! One thing I found that looked interesting is this plugin "vidplayvst" [link...

Can you raise the noise floor level in a recorded Track?
I'm recording a book for ACX. Unfortunately, in this one track, my noise floor level is -93, too low. I tried selecting the first few seconds, where the level is in the -80s, as a Noise Reduction, then applying that to the entire track, but that does not resolve the issue. I tried Amplify but that o...

Adding a warped vinyl effect
Hello,
I search a vst for adding a warped effect.
Izotope Vinyl would do the job very well with the option "warp depth", but he doesn't work as he is a 64 bits plug-in.
Thanks for your help

Re: Can't record -Host processes interfering
I thought I posted a screen shot of the Host Processes. Regarding "Host Processes" go to M.S. Windows Communities and search for "host processes" you will find that 241 people have the SAME question. The microphone being active IS the APP that is running because by turning off the Microphone privacy...

Re: Recording tracks always time shifts
Now I know to use 'latency' as a search term I have been able to find a solution on YouTube - where you just do a test to find the latency drift and adjust it accordingly Are the tracks now lining up correctly for you? It's a shame that Audacity cannot do this automatically. Yes, isn't it. In the p...

Re: Complete Beginner - Audio sounds echoy/reverby?
I don't know of any audacity tools that can remove echos. Also, when editing, it is always best to start with a .WAV file when you can. Having said, that, I did a google search on "how to remove echo from audio in audacity" and came across this YouTube video entitled, "how to remove echo sound and w...
