Can't install Auto-Tune
Extreme Frustration I recently bought Autotune, and have downloaded Audacity 2.1.1 to use it. When Enabling the VST Plugin in the Effects>Manage screen, I click on the VST, hit Enable, then press OK. However, when I try and search the Effects dropdown menu in Audacity for the newly enabled plugin, ...

Non-destructively removing sections from an Audacity project
Hi. I'm working several podcasts. One of them involves creating audio books from non-copyrighted texts by reading them. As I read the books, occasionally I mis-pronounce a word or my vocal pausing isn't quite right, so I read the phrase or sentence over again. I need to take these Audacity projects ...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
It's really good to post a 10 second sound sample completely without processing. Record > Stop > Export: WAV(Microsoft). Don't help us. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html The first second or two can be the hardest. It took several tries to convince one poster that silent ...

Re: Recording telephone conversations via a USB Voice Modem
Sound recorder in Windows 7 is unbelievably basic, so I really couldn't tell you more with respect to it. It's extremely basic in XP too. That's what makes it such a good diagnostic tool. When I then go into XP's "Sound Recorder" and attempt to record, up pops a window stating "Anoth...

How could I export an audio file to CSV file ?
I am using Audacity 2.0.6 on a Intel i7 based system running Windows 7 (and Windows 10). It has worked for me and If I knew I'd be able to do what I want to do now, I'd get the latest. I record audio (sometimes ~8 hours long) using small recorders that record either WAV or MP3 format. I have opened ...

Re: Hard Limiter gone?
The middle slider was named "Wet Level" and it controlled the output level of the clipped signal. The third slider was named "Residual Level" and it controlled the output level of the unprocessed "dry" signal. In other words, the second and third sliders controlled the...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 fails to import/export projects and wav/m
The problem was that I stored all files in a directory that contains a german umlaut in its name ("Märchen"). Once I changed that to "Maerchen" projects can be saved and loaded, audio files can be generated as one would expect. Sure this is a bug of Audacity, isn't it? The playi...

Re: Recording With Headphones In
Sorry, my audacity is 2.1.1. and I think my windows is Windows 10? To find out your Windows version, try looking at System or System and Security in the Windows Control Panel. I don't think theyre USB headphones theyre just the regular headphones that you plug into the headphone place. Then you are...
