Re: Windows 8 64 Bit User Need Help with Plug-ins.
I really need to now the proper upgrade instructions. Such as.. can I install ‘Over the Top’ of the old version 2.0.3? Or... is it better to uninstall the old version, and then install the fresh or new version? If the latter is true, then I need to copy my existing files and Plugin add-on’s correct...

Re: Windows 8 64 Bit User Need Help with Plug-ins.
Well... it’s been about a year since I posted a question regarding upgrading Audacity. I wrote a few months back about VST Plugins, and Gale suggested that I upgrade then to Audacity ver. 2.1.0 or 2.1.1, so that I could have real-time preview for most third-party effects. I am now interested in tryi...

Re: ART USB Phono Plus spdif in on Ubuntu
I mean, "try your preferred Internet search". DC power supplies are certainly more common, but it took me just a couple of minutes to find a 9v AC PSU suitable for the country in which I live. This is an example, NOT a recommendation or sales pitch: Here's one from RS components: http://uk...

In other words composer/arranger software. Sometimes you can get away with playing the patch backwards. The hit at the join point is or should be zero and if the music is bland enough, nobody will notice. The other thing you can do is expand your search to an even and much longer musical phrase and ...

Re: Looking for solutions to avoid Mouth noise ?
You mention the "intense search for a global declicker filter." I would settle for a quicker way to paste in room tone. As it is, I'm deleting a noisy bit, then finding some room tone to copy and paste, then doing it. Then I listen for the next problem but when I find it and cut it, the no...

Re: Looking for solutions to avoid Mouth noise ?
As a rule, you can't Silence Audio. That will leave tiny Blackness of Space sounds in the performance. It is recommended you paste a short snippet of room tone (normal background noise) into the hole. That will generally be a more theatrically graceful and pleasant solution. Whatever you do will cau...

This part of the forum is a place for artists to show and share artwork related to Audacity. We are not able to give advice about graphics software or how to use it. You could try using your preferred Internet search to find a graphics forum. I'll close this topic now as we are not able to help with...

Can't Launch Audacity 2.1.2 on Windows 10
Hello, I'm having some trouble to run Audacity 2.1.2 on Windows 10. When I try to launch it, the Audacity logo appears in the middle of the screen, but it gets stuck there and nothing happens. I tried resetting my preferences, by deleting the audacity.cfg file. I also tried deleting the pluginsettin...

Re: Noise Reduction
Plugging into the computer direct or using the laptop microphone can give you Skype or conference voice quality because of Windows processing. It hates music. You can do your own noise search. Plug headphones into the computer headphone socket and make Audacity show you the signal. Audacity > Edit >...

Re: Microphones
A headset mic is usually appropriate for "chatting" and almost any USB headset mic should work. By monitoring in the headset, you avoid feedback (or echo) that you might get with monitor speakers. A more expensive "gaming headset" will generally get you better sound in your head...
