Re: lame "unavailable"
Please tell us your version of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). To be clear, LAME is required only for exporting MP3. If you go Edit > Preferences... > Libraries section and you see a number against "MP3 Library Version" then LAME is installed proper...

Exporting audio files with Windows 98
Hi, I may be the last one on this planet still using WINDOWS 98 (besides WIN XP). So far, I downloaded some 10 different LAME encoders and duly tried them in any which way I could imagine - with or without the required "Widgets"regular, zipped or regular etc. ... And I did folow the Audaci...

No-one except you is reporting issues. You should not have added entries to PATH. You should remove all paths to FFmpeg from PATH unless other software put them there. As I already said twice now, you can use your ffmpeg.exe and export at the command-line using (external program) . If you tell us e...

Re: Installing Audacity
This post is a bit long, but includes a lot of background detail that I think will help you, so please read through the entire post iraj ;) OK, I think you're right I'd hope so, given that I wrote those instructions ;) I guess that this is the first time that you've attempted to build an application...

Re: Installing Audacity
The only instruction I haven't carried out is to add "WxGTK 3.0" " libwxgtk3.0-dev " MUST be installed before you can build Audacity. The "hard" part of this is getting you build environment set up (the instructions before the "Build Audacity" steps). Once th...

Re: Correcting "Wind Phasing"
The effect you describe is basically a "multi-band compressor". The phenomenon that you describe is due to "auto gain control" (AGC) in the recording device fighting with sudden blasts of low frequency noise. The "fix" is to dramatically cut those sub-sonic blasts when ...

Re: YouTube -> phone?
I imagine that you need to convert the tune to a format that is supported by your 'phone. Probably best if you do some combination of the following: Look in your 'phone manual for what ringtone formats are supported and how to get ringtones into your 'phone. Search the Internet for instructions or v...
