Re: transferring ADAT tapes to Windows via USB port
See https://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=adat+usb+interface . But you probably won't be able to record eight channels at once into Audacity as shipped, unless the device supports EWDM drivers (or WDM-KS, for which you will need Audacity 2.0.4). More information at http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki...

Re: Audacity startup slows down dramatically after 2nd openi
Funny enough, Avast is the only program I have running in the background that would keep track of outdated software. It never told me if there were new versions of Audacity though, perhaps because I had the portable version. I doubt that they keep version information for Audacity as it is not a com...

Re: Sample WAV file evaluation requested
The headphone search is ripe with stories. I bought a second set of Koss Pro4AA headphones to replace the ones that were falling apart before I realized each set was guaranteed for life. They sound OK but weigh as much as a Land-Rover and make you sweat. The Koss Pro3AA, I expect were hoping to ride...

Re: No sound at all when opening Audacity
Did someone built this computer for you? If so, then getting audio drivers for the motherboard is correct. "MS-7850" seems to point to different motherboards: https://uk.msi.com/search/MS-7850/product/1 . If so, you will need to know which motherboard you have. Alternatively look at your ...

Re: No sound at all when opening Audacity
I'm not sure who's website I should go to. Here's my system information: http://i.imgur.com/dsxBWCn.png The system model says "MS-7850", and whenever I Google this, all websites point to MSI, so I'm assuming I need to download drivers from the MSI website? Did someone build this computer ...

Re: Central location to save plugins from Audacity updates
It's also the correct way if you are done with testing Nightly Builds. Audacity doesn't let you specify random folders to search for plugins. That would be a feature request.DickN wrote:Copying them all to the latest version du jure would just be doing it the old way.

Re: voice to text converter
Audacity does not do voice to text. You may be able to use Dragon as a free trial for a one-off conversion. You could try Windows XP - Install speech recognition . You might find an old application called "Wave to Text". This used to work quite well. Use the search feature in your web brow...

Re: No sound at all when opening Audacity
Are you using Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows ? Do your headset and built-in audio device have drivers meant for Windows 10? Have you looked in Windows Sound at what are the default playback devices before and after launching Audacity? Most browsers can't choose thei...
