Re: Distortion when recording
Some computers do have HDMI inputs. "Had" would be more exact. I only know of the DELL/Alienware M17 and M18 and those are history. A short search found some posts on a second one, but nobody seems to know what brand. And it still won't work for audio recording as it turns these laptops i...

Re: How to audio-scrub on Macbook Pro
With audio playback...but. Video editors have a built-in advantage for video scrubbing. Frames. Television frames. Correct me, but when you click and hold the cursor in the timeline in Final Cut Pro, it repeatedly plays that frame's sound in a tight loop. As you pull sideways, it progressively play...

Re: Audacity MetaData
If you save an Audacity project, the metadata for the last imported file is stored in the AUP file. If you do not save a project then the metadata for the last imported file is just temporary data. I suggest you use a proper tag editor which will be able to batch edit tags. If the files are lossy li...
Re: PLS HELP!
You need to check the terms and conditions of any site you attempt to download from. You may be able to find ways to dump the RTMP stream such as with VLC or rtmpdump. Use your favourite search engine to find out how. If you want to record computer playback using Audacity, see Tutorial - Recording C...

. . . and I have seen references to the Spitfish plug-in, so . . . I'll keep that in mind. Paul-L's De-Esser plugin [ at the bottom ] is very good, see ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=255692#p255692 But SpitFish is easier to operate ... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query...

Re: Problem with second track
Hi Michael, I tried unchecking the Exclusive boxes in the control panel and there is no difference. OK. Audacity's WASAPI support is still fairly experimental in that it has not been improved much since first implemented. When you said "Drag" the videos into Audacity - remember, I'm blind,...

Re: Compression vs. Limiter and MP3 kbps Value on Export
Hi Trebor, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm aware of the D-essers, but I know ACX does NOT approve of using them. My sibilance is not horrible, I just try to always improve on my delivery. :-) Gives me something new to learn. Plus, as Koz always recommends, I'm striving to get as close to perfect in ...

Re: Removing Envelope Control Points
Hello, I apologize up front. I was searching for a way to reset envelope points and I ran across the code in this thread... I am hoping to use it, but am a bit bewildered by the notes about various Audacity versions and Nyquist in general when I search. How does one install this? I am using Audacity...

Re: Problem with second track
Why are you overdubbing when you are recording computer playback? There may be a better way to do whatever you are trying to do. If you are overdubbing you should normally use a microphone recording device to sing or play an instrument. WASAPI host is prone to a dropout (which may sound like a click...

Re: Driver compatability issues.
I use a Yamaha MX49 keyboard which has bidirectional USB for pure digital recording, so the synth actually acts as an external USB sound card. Steinberg provides the Yamaha USB Driver which I have used successfully with Audacity in the past. It's easier to call up Audacity to record my inspirations...
