Insert time at the beginning of multiple track file [SOLVED]
I have a song file with 30+ tracks and need to insert 10 seconds at the start of all of the tracks. I tried selecting all tracks (ctrl A) which highlights all tracks grey and then using time shift function f5 with left/right arrow cursor showing as normal but nothing would move. Is there a preferenc...

Re: White Noise is All-Consuming
Hi, steve, here is an audio sample with the same settings on my macbook pro (EXCEPT audacity greyed out recording inputs on the audacity software whereas they were 90/100 on the pc recording). Also, I meant to say that the focus button "focuses" on the highs and mids. Woops. cyrano, this i...

Re: Blank audio when uploaded for podcast
One problem with YouTube is that it's difficult to tell who copied from who. When a YT video is popular, people copy it and claim it for their own channel, then people copy the copies, then people copy the copy of the copies, an search engines tend to favour the most recent (furthest from the origin...

Re: How to search for sound that went over a certain decibel
Thanks! Also, I know it all sounds weird, but it's a lucid dreaming thing. I'll try this tonight; if it works well, I'll mark it as solved.

Re: Audacity 2.1.2
The best way to record sounds that are playing on your (Windows) computer is to use the "WASAPI loopback" method described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html When possible, it is better (and quicker) to download the media rather th...

Re: How to search for sound that went over a certain decibel
Hello, I was wondering how to search for sound that went over a certain sound level. I like to record myself when I sleep to listen for any sleep talk, and I feel like this would make it finding any sleep-talk a lot simpler for me. I would first use the "Truncate Silence..." effect to eli...

Re: WaveGain Vs Audacity Effect "Amplify"
Yes, it is true I am only concerned at this point in my WAV files. And I am not sold only on Audacity to change the loudness of the music. I am happy to use WaveGain. In fact for what I am doing it is quite a bit faster. My questions are more pointed to having the most precise reproduction of the fi...

upgrade questions
Sorry for posting such simple question but ;) when I search the forum for "keyboard" ;) I get the musical instrument! I just upgraded to 2.1.2 and I noticed that my keyboard definitions have reverted to defaults. Is there a way to restore them from the previous version of Audacity? Also, I...
