Re: Blank Cd after burn to CD is complete

It's practically certain your internal burner is dying or dead. Windows Media basically said, "Find out why the burner isn't working right and get back to me." It's not software or drivers because for a time, it worked OK, then erratically. Driver problems tend not to wander. You have the ...

Weird Question about Amping and Repair

Hi, I've got a very odd inquiry about Audacity. That lovely little repair feature is very useful for fixing the edges of a spot you have amped up or down. Well I have some audio I need to amp up anywhere from 0.5 to 2.0 db, and I don't want to use compression (nor am I very good at it). As you might...

Re: How do I remove Reverb out of recordings?

I have a spirit app that has reverb on it. I'm told reverb could be pulled off of the spirits replies to clear up the voices. The quick answer is that it is not easy and if this is important to you, you want to spend a few hundred dollars on a specialised commercial deverb plugin. Use your favourit...

Re: Tranferring voice mails

Are you getting tall blue waves when recording? If so and you want to hear while recording, enable Transport > Software Playthrough. If recording is a flat line, choose the correct external mic as recording device in Audacity's Device Toolbar . There are usually ways to transfer your voicemails from...

Re: Tinnitus notch filter through speakers

...Can I set up an Audacity, notch, (or stop) filter on my computer and play "all" my music through it ? ... Like globally, so all sound out of computer is notched ? Audacity doesn't apply effects in real-time. So you'll need other software: you need " real-time equalizer " soft...

Re: How to keep the identical sound in a sea of other sounds

Effect > Vocal Reduction and Isolation Here's the link: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_vocal_removal_and_isolation.html It is sometimes possible (but perhaps not legal) to deconstruct the game files and digitally extract (rip) the audio data. Of course you shouldn't attempt this if the...

A new proposal for the latency issue on audio recording

I'll go to the point. Latency is by definition a shame, much as we want to sell as a lesser evil but necessary. And it is far from inevitable as us believe. The approach to solve this issue, both amateur and professional level is the same: Try to reduce it below the threshold of our perception that ...

Re: Audio playback of ultrasound above 20 kHz.

The problem that you will have with audio equipment is that it is designed for "audio", which by definition means up to about 20 kHz. If you search through manufacturers specifications you may find a device that goes a little higher (perhaps up to 25 kHz) but I think you're unlikely to fin...

Re: Cyclical variation in volume of recorded music

the problem does not lie in the turntable, pre-amp or in the Behringer UF0202. I believe you. Now let's go further. After you capture a song but before you export it, play it in Audacity and search for the variation. I'm betting it has a problem there. You may be able to see it in the sizes of the ...

Re: Dropout detection

I record hours of music from youtube. Better to download than record. Downloading is much quicker and better quality (because it avoids a conversion from digital to analog to digital) and it avoids dropouts caused by inadequate network speed.. Use your favourite search engine to find a suitable plu...
