Re: Cannot burn Audacity files with Windows Media Player
I use Audacity to "record' LPs in my collection, to convert them to digital, then burn CDs (yes, consistantly old fashioned). I convert them to high quality .wav files and put them in my Win 10 Music section. During the conversion, Groove somehow "took" the file. I don't know how it ...

Technical Term For This Kind of "Echo"?
Whenever I search for help with removing an "echo" from a recording, I end up with things like "deverb". Is the attached sample "reverb" hence requiring a "deverb" plugin? Or is it something else requiring another kind of removal plugin?

Re: Problem recording sound trough Logitech Wireless headset
Sorry for delaying so much with another comment. Yes, it is in windows sound I've put my headset as the default device. It seems to me that the problem might be with my headset in some way. I do still not understand what's wrong and how to fix it. I have tried with Skype turned off without any succe...

Re: Release date for newest Audacity against Wx3.0?
If Antix has WxWidgets 3.0.2 then it would be better to build Audacity 2.1.3 alpha (which has many bug fixes added since the 2.1.2 release). Or you could wait for the new release. I can't find the alpha version you speak of. I'd be happy to try compiling if it you think it ought to work with the de...

Re: Need help to identify cause of interference in my audio
The white nose is probably from the mic preamp in your soundcard/soundchip. All preamps generate some noise and the preamps in consumer soundcards tend to be low quality. Regular soundcards are also incompatible with studio/stage mics, so they are rarely used for "serious recording". You c...

Re: absolute time of recording
Audacity doesn't make a very good surveillance recorder. -- As you discovered, there's no good way (outside of SMPTE Time Code) to record time of day. -- We can't do Rolling Recording (erase the old while you're recording new). -- There's no good way to custom Timed Recording. There's Sound Activate...

I use a UCA-202. That's my stereo sound mixer on the right. Substitute your cassette machine Line-Out. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg Apparently, I'm famous. My illustration comes up prominently in a Google search. Nothing is ever without its shortcomings. There ar...

Re: Appalling sound quality when I record my cassettes to la
I have tried to record my old cassette tapes with Audacity but the quality obtained is appalling, much worse than the sound of my tapes. The sounds come out distorted. I have tried with three different radio-cassette players and the result has been the same. I don't know if my new jack connector ca...

Re: Nothing records (flat line) in Audacity
Your settings look correct. Make sure the Audacity recording level is turned up (it "should" be the same as that you chose in Windows Sound). Set project rate to 44100 Hz. You may want to check the cable you are using. If you use your favourite search engine and look up your phone or phone...
