Re: traveling mic level

Yes, this is the meteor mic. Everything was going good until now. I don't have any other open apps going when I record and I don't use skype. It just started doing this on its own and its bugging the heck out of me. (Thanks for the tip on cold booting by the way, works great) :) I assume you alread...

Re: Levels & Pop / click diagnosis?

... Sounds to me like the CPU was struggling for resources when you were recording. Check what processes are running and see if you can disable any unnecessary things running in the background ... Ditto . Also try increasing the CPU-priority of Audacity so it is less likely to be interrupted by oth...

Re: setting speed prior to recording an overdub track

HI Gale, Many thanks for your prompt response and very useful links. I have found what the problem was and it is now fixed. It seems I had changed the sample rate in another music recording application I have, and it flowed through via my recording and playback devices to Audacity. Not sure if that ...

Re: Microphone level increased automatically during recordin

I've just found the reason.
I'm using an online tuner to control a notes pitch, of course this web page is allowed to use a microphone.
When I closed the browser tab with tuner problem disappeared.

You prompted me to search other reasons than the Audacity and system settings.
Thanks a lot!

Re: setting speed prior to recording an overdub track

Please provide information about your playback and recording devices chosen in Audacity including Host (look in Device Toolbar ). Also provide make and model number of the microphone and say how it connects to the computer. Also see http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.ht...

Luscinia seems most promising. Will carve out some time to trial and be back with results.

Re: Snap/click/pop sounds

Rarely, and at random as far as I can tell, I get what has been described by proof listeners as a "click", "pop", or "snap" which isn't background noise. Possibly some other software running at the same time interrupting Audacity for a millisecond. You could try giving...

Re: error loading up project

Use the search system on your machine to find the _data folder. That's underline d a t a.

The aup and the _data folder names must match like they do in my picture and they need to be the original name.

Re: error loading up project

Search your machine for your show name followed by _data. Move that to the desktop along with your aup file. If you have a normal Project, double click the aup file and the show should open.
