Re: Extracting "name" from multiple mp3s.

The search term is Edit Metadata.

http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/metadata_editor.html

But I don't think it's going to do what you want.

Audacity has an Auto Batch tool called Chains.

Editing Tools Not Working

I'm new to the forum and I did do a search but did not find an answer. I have read the manual and only find "how to" do something. I am new to Audacity. I have downloaded the latest version. Opened a new audio file and need to selected about 12 seconds of audio from it. I use the arrow key...

Change Pitch plugin - Where, oh where art thou?

Hi, I would like to use the Change Pitch effect in my video editing program, but have looked high and low in Audacity and online to find a VST or dll (or whatever) associated with Change Pitch that I could import into my editor. This simple effect works great for my purpose, but I search in vain... ...

Re: Gapless Playback

And correct me, but it only works if the selection fits in memory. If it doesn't, the machine has to smash the physical hard drive armature back and forth and you get serious gaps. I'll correct you ;) Audacity should be able to play a loop of any length "seamlessly" provided that the star...

Re: conversion loss rates

Standard Audio CD got that much very high quality music onto one silvery disk by eliminating options. You get one pass of 74 to 80 minutes broken up into as many as 99 songs. You can get close to 80 minutes by having one song. The number of minutes goes down the more songs the disk has to keep track...

Re: how to: search/find spectra

Turns out there are heaps of published papers addressing this problem. Most of the mathematics and acoustics are far beyond my understanding. Apparently the proprietary Song Scope can sample and find. Here's a paper outlining the methods used to ID bird calls in 876 hrs of recording: 1. Buxton RT, J...

Re: How to vizualize and play extremely large MP3 files?

Thanks, @Trebor. This might be good if you have the MP3 already in Audacity. But the problem is, how to get a >1 GB MP3 into Audacity? A comment to mp3DirectCut: It would all be perfect but unfortunately the zoom-levels are very limited. There are only 6 zoom levels. Apparently, you cannot visualize...

Audacity Recording with 2 or more usb soundcard at same time

I have two question. please reply on this posting.

1. Is it possible to record multi-track simultaneously with 2 or more usb sound card?
2. I can't find the information at google. when I search the device like M-audio delta1010LT, it seems it is possible to record multi-channels, isn't it?

Thanks

Re: Project Broken into hundreds of .au files

Thousands of little AU files is a Project. You are not supposed to be looking around inside the _DATA folder. You are supposed to double click the AUP file and the AUP file knows how to put all that back together again. So search the machine for an AUP file with the same name as your _DATA folder. T...
