Re: Looking for consultant
There are unofficial Audacity tutorials on YouTube . Which are really not recommended unless you find it hard to assimilate text. Most YouTube tutorials don't say what version of Audacity they are using (some are using old 1.2 versions of Audacity), and some are just plain incorrect or misleading. ...

Re: Looking for consultant
We don't do that, nor do we have time to. Also you need copyright holders' permission before you can record music from the internet. I suspect you are just panicking at the unknown. You can answer what a sound card driver is by using your favourite search engine (Google, Bing and so on). iTunes is a...

Re: Recover damaged AUP file from _data folder
If the AutoSave folder does not exist then you deleted it yourself. I am guessing you have been interfering with your projects in ways you have not told us, for example that is why you had a copy AUP file with no _data folder. You must never copy projects by hand into the same folder. Use File > Sav...

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
Does anyone know if it's now possible to map inputs on the latest version of Audacity ? There is no input mapping in Audacity 2.1.3. On Linux the Jack Audio System can be used to map inputs and outputs. There are a couple of versions of Jack Audio System for mac, but from a quick Google search they...

Re: Recover damaged AUP file from _data folder
Actually I answered this same question from you when you wrote to our [email protected] address two weeks ago. To repeat part of what I said: The immediate problem for this project is the 205 "missing" block files. In that dialogue, do not choose the option to permanently replace the missing files...

Re: Noise Gate for removing microphone spill - keychain idea
It's mostly the electric bass and the lower frequencies of the vocals creating a wash of mud picked up by the microphone, but using a HPF to get rid of them would also rob all the tone out of the drums. Typically, everything except the kick-drum and bass guitar are high-passed (at maybe ~180Hz). Yo...

Re: Peaky notes, EQ and compressor limitations, uncontrollab
I like the way that people that went to school for this stuff and KNOW'' are strangely absent around here! (well, there's a few - but not enough shared IMO) --- Even retired music engineers strangely silent in these matters (Where are they? On Facebook posting cat videos?) It's almost impossible to...
