Re: Recording breakup

Have a look at the anti-skipping strategies ... http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#How_can_I_record_without_small_skips_or_duplications.3F e.g. increase the process-priority of Audacity from "normal" to "above normal"... I did look at the link ...

Invalid character number + Open' command to open...

Today when I opened the .aup file of my latest episode I get the following: Error: reference to invalid character number at line 57. After a Google search I tried opening the file with Notepad to edit as recommended in the following FAQ "Why do I get "Error: not well formed (invalid token)...

Re: Suppressing digital and analog audio feedback

Audacity's latest version To make sure you really have that, please have a look at the pink panel at the top of the page and give us all three version numbers. So far, I have applied the following settings: For bass, -30db For treble -30db After I have burned onto a CD-R, I played it in my CD playe...

'Blurring' a Juddery Waveform

Hello, everyone. I have had a quick look round the net to see if I can find anything on this, but I'm an absolute novice where sound editing is concerned and I'm not entirely sure how to search properly, because I'm not really all that sure what I'm looking for. I'm editing a vocal track - basically...

Re: Little sound from left speaker

If you do not see USB Audio CODEC or at least USB "something" when the turntable is plugged in at the mains, switched on and its USB cable connected to the computer, then you must try step 3. If you like, you can try simply using a different USB cable or different USB port on the computer,...

Re: compiling Audacity 2.1.0 on OpenSUSE

As a general point, you seem to be building from a minimal source tarball. By definition this does not come self-contained with all the dependencies required to build Audacity. Consider using the full source: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/archive/Audacity-2.1.0.zip instead. openSUSE Leap 42.2...

Re: Low noise usb soundcard for sleeptalk recording

Allright, So first, the microphone, I just did some research. So I need a sensitive microphone with a low equivalent noise. A -33dB is more sensitive than -55dB (I would have assume the oposite) A microphone with a xdB equivalent noise means that it's as if I was running a perfect microphone in a ro...

Re: Little sound from left speaker

I could not find USB Audio CODEC or anything resembling that under the Recording tab. I did a search on the internet and found that a lot of other users also do not have it, as well. Anyway, I started to follow your instructions but was a bit hesitant to apply No 3. I did not understand what was to ...

compiling Audacity 2.1.0 on OpenSUSE

openSUSE Leap 42.2 64-bit, KDE Plasma 5.8.3, building from audacity-minsrc-2.1.0.tar.xz I have posted this on the openSuse forums also, but after 77 people have read this, no one seems to be able to offer suggestions. I have also had some help from Audacity GNU/Linux forums [Gale A] Because of a BUG...
