Re: MP3 file plays fine on EVERYTHING except when imported..

OK, it seems the later versions of Audacity and FFMpeg have no trouble with Apple CAF files (Yay!)
This was a raw voice test I shot. It passes ACX Audiobook conformance although nobody in their right mind would OK it for publication.

Re: MP3 file plays fine on EVERYTHING except when imported..

... on-line format checker. https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline Then, when it (probably) tells you it's a CAF (Core Audio File), you can install the FFMpeg software into Audacity and hopefully open the file. Scroll down to FFMpeg add-on. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ Did that help? ...

Re: MP3 file plays fine on EVERYTHING except when imported..

... should see : MPEG Audio Version 1 Layer 3 If it's something else, Audacity can probably open it but you'll probably have to install the optional FFmpeg Import/Export Library, and it will probably help to correct the filename extension. Tried to import as RAW and it does not work either, longer ...

Re: Is ffmpeg installed thru Homebrew supported?

I'm confused, that page has both Lame and ffmpeg packages. Yes. You need the FFmpeg package. You don't need the LAME package. Is the ffmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg on that page not the one I want? The file " ffmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg " is the one ...

I'm confused, that page has both Lame and ffmpeg packages. Is the ffmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg on that page not the one I want? The instructions point me to that page for the downloads. I'm also not clear if that's a custom ffmpeg installation, or if ...

Is ffmpeg installed thru Homebrew supported?

I am trying to get Audacity 2.3.2 on Mac OS 10.14.6 Mojave to use the ffmpeg 4.1.4.1 library that I installed via Homebrew. Is that not supported since it does not seem to include the ffmpeg.55.64bit.dylib that Audacity needs? In that case can I install the ...

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error

In Audacity 2.3.2, LAME is installed by default as part of Audacity.

To install FFmpeg, follow the instructions here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/ins ... html#winff

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error

I have tried four times now to get FFMPEG to install with v2.3.2 on Win10 64-bit. The Libraries tab says Lame 3.100 (built in) but it cannot locate the library. I tried a sarch for the dll avformat-55.dll and it does not exist. I tried to ...
