Re: M4A file import issue

My understanding is that if I install the FFmpeg library then Audacity should import an M4A file. With a supported version of FFmpeg, Audacity "may" support M4A files, but M4A is a "container format" rather than a specific ...

M4A file import issue

Hello, I just downloaded Audacity 2.3.3 and the FFmpeg library. When I try to import an M4A file (which was exported from iTunes) the 2 minute song appears compressed into 0.024. See attached screen shot below. I'm running Audacity on OSX 10.8.5. ...

Currently running ver. 2.3.2
Did you update an earlier version of Audacity?

Re: Best Settings for Podcast AND light files?

Here's the results of an experiment I performed to time an ffmpeg loudnorm operation involving upsampling to 192k of audio at 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling with final conversion to the same sampling rates. It is a two pass process with the first pass gathering ...

File Error -- Failed to read from a file

I have Catalina 10.5.1 and Audacity 2.3.2. Also installed ffmpeg and lame after seeing the log file looking for those files. I was trying to removed noise from a track that was recorded using Audacity and after a few seconds, the noise reduction looks ...

Re: avformat-55.dll

LAME is already bundled-in Audacity in 2.3.2 - and it's for MP3 export.

You need to install the FFmpeg from that download page.

Re: avformat-55.dll

I recommend that you follow the instructions on this page to download and run Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe which will install the special Audacity-version of FFmpeg

EDIT
Oops… This is an old post, but that was totally wrong!!! Download and install ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe
