LAME is now built-into Audacity so you don't need to install it.

That's not LAME, that's FFmpeg (which is an optional install).

LAME is used only for exporting as MP3.

FFmpeg is used for importing/exporting many other formats.

The problem is read not export.
If you try to open an m4a file the ffmpeg is required.
Because of this the user have to add ffmpeg to the program folder, but only ffmpeg 2.2.2 is working because it contains avformat-55.dll
How I can use ffmpeg v4?

You can use any version of FFmpeg you like if you use the Export using (external program)

In 2.3.3/2.4.0 rc0x we have to use a 6 year old ffmpeg 2.2.2 (from may 2014). Is there any possibility to update Audacity 2.4.0 to latest ffmpeg v4? And also to allow using other ffmpeg future versions easily by selecting the new version of avformat ...

lame.buanzo.org is down and I can't access the package (fmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg).

I also have downloaded so many files but none of them contain ffmpeg.55.64bit.dylib which is the needed file!

The EXE is the installation file and all you should have to do is double-click the EXE file to install it.

How big is that file? Do you still have it?

Look in "Edit menu > Preferences > Libraries"
Does Audacity have FFmpeg installed?
